Summary

Local Defender quickly, effectively and effortlessly reports sightings of enemy players to the Local Defense channel. By simply targetting an enemy player, you instantly announce to everyone the level, class, general location, exact location coordinate and name of that player in a very short, easy to understand message. (See screenshot.) Messages are NEVER spammed, even when several players travelling together are using the addon. Additionally, when other players in your zone are using Local Defender, you will see an on-screen warning when you enter an area where an enemy player was recently sighted, and you can consult your map to see markers indicating the level, class and name of enemy players in the exact location where they were spotted.

Instructions

Just install and forget. Targetting an enemy player which is attackable and not in a neutral area (Gadgetzan, Thorium Point, et cetera) will trigger a report to Local Defense to let others know about the player's level, class and location. To report a group, you may rapidly strike the tab key to target each of them in turn and report them all.

Features Listing

SPAMLESS : Targetting the same player multiple times will NOT trigger multiple reports. Even if two different players are using Local Defender and target the same enemy player, there will be only one report sent to Local Defense. An enemy player will only be reported if there is updated information, or the audience has changed. For example, if ten minutes have passed since the last report, or the enemy player has moved significantly from the previous reported location. Local Defender disables itself for battlegrounds play.

PROXIMITY WARNINGS : If you move into an area where an enemy player was recently sighted by another friendly player using Local Defender, you will see an unobtrusive but noticeable on-screen message reminding you of the recent sighting. (See screenshot.)

SIGHTING MAP MARKERS : When another Local Defender user in your zone reports seeing an enemy player, a marker will be added to your map so that you can see exactly where the sighting occurred. By mousing over the marker, you will be reminded of the level, class and name of the enemy player sighted at that location. (See screenshot.)

UNIVERSALLY BENEFICIAL : Local Defender's report messages include both location coordinates for those players who can make use of them, but also gives the name of the general sighting area so that players without coordinate addons can make use of the information. Because Local Defender reports in the Local Defense channel, your sightings and reports benefit not only other Local Defender users, but everyone in the zone.
