Plater Unit Frames

Plater Unit Frames is a highly configurable and moddable replacement for your stock unit frames. Custom indicators for buffs/debuffs and the proven Plater modding feature lets you configure all frames to your neeeds.

Plater Unit Frames

Feature-rich party, raid and unit frames: from the makers of Plater Nameplates.

Plater Unit Frames ("PUF") replaces Blizzard's party, raid and unit frames with frames you can shape exactly how you want them. Health, auras, indicators, cast bars, mouseover keybinds, and when the built-in options run out, custom indicators and your own Lua mods pick up where they stop.

Everything works out of the box. Type /puf and get started!

Runs on Retail, Mists of Pandaria Classic, Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary and Classic Era.

What it does

Every frame in one addon. Party and raid, plus player, target, target-of-target, focus, focus-target, pet, boss and arena. Every frame type has its own complete set of settings, so your raid frames and your target frame never have to look alike or agree on anything.

Spotlight: the units you care about, in their own group. Pick the players to keep an eye on (by unit, by name, or by role slot like "the tanks") and they get a separate group of frames, placed and styled on its own.

Custom indicators: build your own. Pick an aura, pick a spot on the frame, pick how it looks: an icon, a timer bar, an outline, or a colour wash over the whole frame, with an optional coloured border on any of them. Anything you track can have its own place on the frame instead of queueing up in a row of icons. An icon indicator can also hold a whole group of auras, with its own growth, wrapping and sorting. Setups are saved per specialization, so your healer layout follows the spec and not the character.

Mods: your own Lua on the frame. Write code that runs when a frame is created, shown, hidden, updated, or when you enter and leave combat, and do things the options window never offered. Mods are sandboxed and error-guarded, so a broken one prints a message instead of breaking your frames. Mods can declare their own options, so whoever installs one tunes it without touching the code, and they export as strings, so you can share them.

Aura tracking that keeps up. Track auras by spell name or ID, blacklist the noise, and let the important things stand out. Buffs, debuffs, boss debuffs, dispels and crowd control all get their own handling, and Blizzard's private auras sit on the frame with everything else. Every aura row sets its own growth direction, wrapping and icons per row, can show tooltips, and can limit itself to your own auras: always, or only on friendly units. The dispel row also flags buffs you can purge, spellsteal or soothe on enemies.

Health you can read at a glance. Class colours, flat colours or a health gradient. Incoming heals and absorb shields drawn right on the bar, including the part of a shield that goes past full health. Out-of-range frames fade, status and threat show in the colour, and text goes wherever you put it.

A layout editor, not a wall of sliders. Drag each element where you want it with a live preview in front of you, then fine-tune it. Frame position and size are editable straight from Blizzard's Edit Mode too, with stand-in frames so you can set up your raid layout without a raid, and a checklist beside it to hide the stand-ins you are not working on. Search for any setting, link frames to edit them together, or apply a change to every frame at once.

Profiles that follow you. Switch profiles automatically when you change specialization or role. UI pack authors get an API to import, export and select profiles, and a profile string carries its mods with it.

Mouseover keybinds. Bind spells, macros, target, focus and the unit menu to keys or clicks over a frame: heal, dispel and rez without ever clicking a frame, and it keeps working in combat.
