Ping

Ping scans for enemy players and helps you pick the right target — marking healers, tracking enemy cooldowns, and sorting by class.

Description

Ping scans the combat log for actions performed by enemy players and announces their presence when they are detected. If an enemy is detected Ping will attempt to determine their class, race and level from the ability used, sound an alert, and add them to the Nearby List.

Ping then helps you pick a target: it confirms which enemies are healers, tracks the defensive cooldowns they have burned, and sorts the list by kill priority so the player worth attacking is at the top.

The Ping Window

Appears under your character portrait and can be moved by dragging the title bar. The title bar shows the enemy count and the healer count (4 1H), and contains:

  • Stats — opens the Statistics Window
  • Clear — clears all currently detected enemies
  • Left / Right — navigate the Nearby, Last Hour, Ignore and Kill On Sight lists
  • Close — hides the window; it reappears on the next detection, or type /ping show

The Lists

Enemies are added to Nearby as they are detected. Hovering shows their details and last seen time and location; right-clicking opens a menu to remove them, add them to Ignore or Kill On Sight, announce them to a chat channel, or set Kill On Sight reasons. Undetected enemies drop off after a configurable time.

Kill On Sight players trigger a warning and an alarm, and Ping flags their guild too. Ignore suppresses alerts. Last Hour shows everyone detected in the past hour.

Healer Identification

An enemy is marked as a healer only after being seen healing another player, matched against an editable list of healing spells. You set how many heals, and how large, before Ping is convinced. Healers get a colored edge, can be sorted to the top, or shown on their own with everyone else hidden.

Enemy Cooldowns

When an enemy uses a tracked defensive — Cloak of Shadows, Divine Shield, Ice Block, a PvP trinket — Ping shows a live countdown on their row. The watch list is fully editable.

Kill Priority and Class Sorting

Order the list by what is worth attacking. Float the classes you care about to the top, or hide every other class entirely. Identify healers and keep them above everyone else.

The Statistics Window

A list of every enemy encountered, sortable by name, level, guild, wins and losses, with search by name or guild and filters for Kill On Sight, Win/Loss and Reasons. Ping also keeps a per-character encounter log — a timestamped record of sightings, attacks, healer confirmations, cooldowns, stealth and kills.

Spy Import

Ping installs alongside Spy without conflicting. Data → Spy Import copies your Kill On Sight list with reasons, your Ignore list, and every enemy you have encountered, including win/loss records. Spy's own data is never modified, and importing again is safe.

Appearance

Fourteen themes — seven recolor the window, seven replace the artwork and icons. Fonts, textures, row size, opacity and accent colors are all configurable, along with a minimap button and optional nameplate and view distance controls.

Group Sharing

Ping users can share detections with their party, raid and guild. It is off by default and opt-in on both ends — the sender enables Share data, the receiver enables Use data. These are not chat messages; they travel on the addon channel and are invisible.

Shared sightings do not sound the nearby alert. But your Kill On Sight list is still yours — if a guildmate spots someone flagged on your list, even if they have never flagged them, you get a unique Kill On Sight alert. .

TomTom Waypoints

Alt-clicking a name sends a waypoint to TomTom. Ping cannot read an enemy's position — the game does not expose it — so the waypoint marks where the detecting player was standing. If a guildmate across the map spots someone on your Kill On Sight list, alt-clicking points you to where they saw them.
