PickPocketTimer

PickPocketTimer is a lightweight Rogue addon with two focused tools:

• Track Pick Pocket lockouts on NPCs while farming outdoors.
• Manage locked and unlocked Junkboxes from one simple helper window.

Actively Maintained

PickPocketTimer is actively maintained for current Retail WoW by an active all-class player who uses the addon for regular farming.

Pick Pocket Tracking

When you successfully use Pick Pocket on an NPC, PickPocketTimer starts a 10-minute timer for that specific NPC.

Repeated casts on an NPC that is already tracked do not reset or extend its active timer.

While you are stealthed and out of normal combat, hostile NPC nameplates display:

• [Locked - M:SS] in red when the NPC is still on cooldown.
• [READY] in green when the NPC can be pickpocketed.

Hovering an NPC also shows its status in the tooltip:

• Pickpocket Status: NOT READY (Remaining: Xm Ys)
• Pickpocket Status: READY TO LOOT

Pick Pocket Features

• Persistent timers that survive reloads and relogs.
• Ready and locked status shown directly on hostile nameplates.
• Tooltip status integration.
• Stealth-only display to keep your screen clean.
• Adjustable nameplate font size, opacity, and text position.
• Automatic cleanup of expired timers.

Junkbox Helper

The built-in Junkbox Helper scans your bags and separates Junkboxes into two simple queues:

• Locked — shows the next Junkbox ready for Pick Lock.
• Unlocked — shows the next lockbox ready to open.

Each side displays the current Junkbox icon, name, and total amount available.

• Click PICK LOCK to lockpick the next locked Junkbox.
• Click OPEN LOCKBOX to open the next unlocked Junkbox.
• Every lockpick and opening action always requires one physical click.
• The helper updates after lockpicking so you can safely continue through your boxes.
• A session counter tracks how many Junkboxes you have opened. Reset it at any time from the helper window.

Junkbox Helper Features

• Supports multiple Junkbox types in the same bags.
• Includes a draggable minimap button, enabled by default.
• Open the helper with /ppt or /pptjunkbox.
• Separate Junkbox Helper settings page.
• Adjustable helper scale from 70% to 120%.
• Adjustable helper font size from 10 px to 18 px.
• Clean black-and-gold two-panel layout.

Instance Compatibility

Modern Retail restricts addon access to hostile NPC identity inside protected instances such as dungeons and raids.

To avoid errors or misleading information, per-NPC Pick Pocket tracking is available for outdoor/world farming and is disabled in restricted instances. The Junkbox Helper remains available everywhere.

Cooldown Note

World of Warcraft does not provide a reliable public API or definitive source for every NPC’s Pick Pocket refresh time.

PickPocketTimer uses a conservative 10-minute timer, which is the safest farming baseline. Some NPCs may become available again sooner.

The timer is designed to prevent wasted repeat attempts; it does not claim that every NPC always has the exact same cooldown.
