OWPvP 1.0.6
What's new
OWPvP 1.0.6
This is the first major update since the initial OWPvP 1.0.0 release.
Player Alerts
- Added personal enemy alerts for previously encountered players.
- Players from your kill or death history can be marked for detection.
- OWPvP can play a warning sound when a marked enemy is later detected through:
- enemy nameplates
- target
- mouseover
- combat-log activity
- Added an alert cooldown to prevent repeated sound spam.
- Personal alerts and notes remain completely local.
Difficulty-Based PvP Progression
PvP rewards now scale with opponent difficulty.
- Gray targets award very little XP and renown.
- Green targets award reduced rewards.
- Similar-level targets award normal rewards.
- Orange targets award increased rewards.
- Red and skull-level targets award the highest rewards.
Old stored kills are automatically reevaluated using the updated reward rules, so legacy gray kills no longer retain full-value progression.
Repeated kills against the same opponent may also receive reduced progression rewards while still remaining valid kills in the personal history.
Expanded Achievement System
- Greatly expanded the OWPvP achievement system.
- Added class-specific achievements for all nine Burning Crusade classes.
- Added achievements for:
- total open-world PvP kills
- defeating multiple different classes
- fighting across multiple zones
- high-difficulty opponents
- kill streaks
- revenge kills
- solo kills
- repeated rival encounters
- pet-assisted kills
- fast kills
- bounty completions
- Existing historical statistics are used to retroactively unlock compatible achievements.
- Added permanent supporting statistics so future achievements can use more historical PvP data.
Legendary Titles
The most demanding accomplishments can now reward special legendary titles.
Legendary titles receive a distinct visual presentation inside OWPvP to separate them from normal titles.
Examples include prestigious rewards such as:
- Schrecken der offenen Welt
- Riesenschlächter
- Der Vollstrecker
Data Exchange
The former network/gossip terminology has been replaced with clearer player-facing terminology centered around Data Exchange.
- "Network" is now displayed as "Datenaustausch" in the German interface.
- "Peers" are shown as contacts.
- Synchronization actions are presented as data exchanges.
- Added direct visual feedback when manually exchanging data.
- The interface now shows:
- searching for a contact
- contact detected
- successful exchange
- no contact found
- Successful exchanges receive a visible confirmation check mark.
- The most recent successful exchange partner is displayed.
The underlying decentralized architecture remains unchanged.
