OWPvP — Open World PvP Network

OWPvP is an open-world PvP tracker, rival journal, progression system and decentralized player network for World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary.

The addon records PvP encounters that happen naturally in the open world and turns them into a persistent history for each character.

Core Features

• Records valid open-world PvP kills and deaths
• Uses combat participation rather than killing blows
• Gives credit to eligible members of a normal five-player party, including healers
• Recognizes participating pets and guardians when they can be assigned to an owner
• Excludes battlegrounds, arenas, instances, raids and duels
• Stores up to 5,000 detailed recent encounter records while retaining permanent aggregated statistics
• Tracks daily, weekly, session and lifetime performance

Encounter History

The Chronicle provides a readable history of previous PvP encounters, including:

• opponent name
• known level, class and race
• zone and time
• opponent difficulty
• kills and deaths
• observed attackers involved in the player's death

Opponent information may initially be incomplete and is expanded through later direct observations.

Rivals and Personal Player Alerts

Every encountered opponent receives a local rival profile containing the known encounter record and the last observed location.

Players previously killed or involved in the user's death can be marked with a personal alert. When WoW later exposes that character through an enemy nameplate, target, mouseover or combat-log event, OWPvP can play a configurable warning sound.

Personal notes, markings and alerts remain local and are not shared with other users.

Progression

Valid kills award OWPvP experience and renown based on the opponent's difficulty:

• gray opponents provide very small rewards
• green opponents provide reduced rewards
• similar-level opponents provide normal rewards
• orange and red opponents provide increased rewards

Every valid encounter still remains visible in the personal history.

Players can unlock achievements, OWPvP levels and selectable titles through their open-world PvP activity.

Known Realm Standing

OWPvP includes Overall, Horde and Alliance ranking views.

The ranking represents the best realm information currently known by the local addon. It is not presented as an authoritative or complete Blizzard server ranking.

Decentralized Gossip Network

OWPvP does not require an external account, website, backend server or companion application.

Public OWPvP records can travel between addon users through supported in-game addon communication. Players exchange compact updates when a valid communication route is available, allowing information to spread gradually from character to character.

The network uses event identifiers, sequence tracking, deduplication and evidence levels to reduce duplicate or conflicting records. Because the system is decentralized and client-side, it cannot provide absolute anti-cheat guarantees.

Bounties

Players can create decentralized bounties using earned renown points.

A bounty contains:

• a target character
• a predefined public reason
• a renown reward
• a seven-day duration
• a claim state and evidence status

Personal free-text accusations are not distributed.

Privacy

OWPvP does not upload data to an external developer-controlled server.

The addon does not distribute:

• BattleTags or account identifiers
• chat messages
• personal notes
• precise movement histories
• private guild or group information

Only gameplay information directly related to OWPvP's public encounter and progression systems is eligible for synchronization.

Current Network Limitations

The quality of the known realm standing depends on how many OWPvP users have exchanged information.

Cross-client range, layering and cross-faction transport may vary according to the communication routes made available by the WoW client. Local encounter tracking and personal progression work independently of the decentralized network.
