oUF_Diablo

oUF_Diablo is a unit frame layout for oUF. It provides player unit frames in form of Diablo themes orbs.

It has fully configurable model templates preset for each class, reaction and power type.

Orb states

Absorb shield, low health, magic debuff, poison, curse, disease and so on.

Intro

I finished my first version of my Diablo themed player unitframes for WoW Midnight called oUF_Diablo.

The player frame consists of two orb frames. Inside each orb lives a ModelScene animation that fits inside the orb. (Sort of like your transmog window)

The idea was to have an individual orb for different unit states like class_color, powertype_color or reaction_color.

To do that I needed templates to pick from.

I wrote myself an addon to search through the game files to find cool model animations to pick from. I found 200+ very nice ones and preconfigured them in an addon called rModelOrbTemplate.

The models live in 3D space inside a model scene. Blizzard provides an orbit camera type which I adjusted into my own camera type.

To setup the templates I wrote rModelOrbConfig which lets me dig through all models from rModelOrbTemplate and combine that with filling textures and filling colors. The final configuration can be saved as a template.

I made 26 preset templates match unit and powertype combinations.

Users can do the same and create their own templates to use. The options are plentiful.

That gave me the ability to write the oUF layout and link the preset templates to unit states.

The orbs have smooth-filling, low-health-warning, debuff-type-coloring and absorb-shield-highlight.

I did something similar years ago with Roth UI. Doing it in Midnight with secret values was kinda … interesting. :)
