OpenRoad Guides
Version 1.06
OpenRoad leveling guides for Classic and WoW Forever.
1.06
- New: auto-accept and auto turn-in for the quests in your current guide (both on by default; Settings or
/or auto on|off). Escort and PvP quests the guide marks as manual stay manual, quests with a reward choice wait for you unless the guide names one, and holding Shift at the NPC pauses it. When an auto turn-in levels you outdoors, the level-up /say posts on your next click or movement key. - Map and minimap pins now show just the step number. The game already puts its own ? or ! on the quest NPC, so the extra icon beside the number is gone. NPC tooltips keep their sharper ? and ! icons.
- Quest mobs show your progress (like 3/10) beside the nameplate icon.
- New setting: Rare drop quests, with three choices (
/or drops optional|chase|skip). Optional (default): quests that start from a rare drop, like the Nibbled-On Book in Northshire, show greyed as "(optional)" in the guide, mob tooltips and nameplates, but the guide never waits on them. If the item drops, the whole chain joins the guide. Chase: the guide waits on the drop and does the whole chain. Skip: the chain is never shown, even if the item drops. - New setting: Blizzard quest tracker, off by default (
/or tracker on|off). The game's own objective list on the right of the screen is hidden, since the guide window already shows your progress. - The level-up /say now also fires for level ups from kills; outdoors it posts on your next key press, click or movement.
- Auto turn-in handles talk-to quests (no objectives), and
/or auto debugshows each auto quest decision. - New: addon error reports. If OpenRoad hits a Lua error, the message (file, line, version) is saved with your shared quest data so it can be fixed. Only OpenRoad's own errors are recorded, at most 10 per session, and nothing is sent unless you upload.
- The OpenRoad compass logo now shows next to the addon in the AddOns list.
- Settings are now split into four tabs (Window, Quests, Info, Extras) instead of one long list, so the options window stays short and each setting is easier to find.
- Tooltips for the guide window's buttons (Back, Done, Restart, party line) now open beside the window instead of covering the step text.
- New: browse the guide with the
<and>buttons under the steps without marking anything done (Done still marks a step finished). While you're looking at another step, a "Back to your step" arrow appears in the guide header. Click it to jump straight back to the step you were on. It disappears once you're there again, and it is kept through /reload. - Optional objectives now show in the guide window with their progress and a blue [Optional] tag instead of being hidden; they still never hold the step. Item tooltips show "(optional)" for them too. The Northshire Stolen Books step explains the books are finished later at the Kobold camp.
- The Guides tab now fits all its zones inside the window.
- Clearer, friendlier step wording across the 1-60 Alliance, Horde and Zephras Isle guides. The 11-20 and 12-22 dungeon routes lose their old chat-bubble icons and now say "Speak with" like the rest.
- Removed the Alliance and Horde Mage AoE routes. Mages now level on the Standard or Dungeon route; if you were on a Mage AoE guide, the addon moves you to the Standard route.
- Night Elf 1-10: clearer Darnassus wording, the Rogue thrown-weapon step now names Turian, and the Hunter Walking Stick reminder stays up until you leave for Darkshore.
