What's new

Real groups, a Load tab, a spell search by name, and text auras.

The biggest release this addon has had. The short version: auras can be grouped and moved together, when an aura loads is its own tab, you can find a spell by typing its name, and an aura can be a line of text instead of an icon.

Groups that are actually groups. Add group makes a box you drag auras into, in the list or by dragging them. Moving the box moves everything in it and changes nothing about how they sit relative to each other — being in a group does not stop you moving one on its own. Line them up arranges them when you ask, rather than a group throwing your arrangement away the moment something joins it.

A Load tab. When an aura is active — class and spec, dungeon or raid, difficulty, in combat, mounted, alive — is asked in one place instead of being scattered through the other tabs. Class and spec are one nested list: tick a class and its specs appear underneath it. Every class's specs are there, not just the one you are logged in as, so an aura set up on your paladin can be corrected from your priest.

Find a spell by name. The addon ships an index of every spell in the game, so typing Shifting Sands finds it without knowing its id. It is generated data that loads as a single string — no scan runs on your machine, at login or ever. Around thirty thousand internal and developer entries are filtered out so a search for kick returns spells you might actually track.

Cooldowns and items, not just auras. Watch whether a spell is ready and how long until it is, or a trinket or a consumable with the count from your bags. Icons grey out when you cannot use them — not enough Holy Power, not just on cooldown — and follow a spell that changes under you, the way Judgment becomes Hammer of Wrath.

Text auras. An aura can be a line of words instead of an icon: the spell's name, or anything you type. Its own colour, font, size and drop shadow, none of it shared with the countdown or the stack count. Those two have their own complete settings as well, side by side, including where they sit on the icon and whether they sit outside it.

Spell ids on every tooltip in the game, behind a button in the corner of the window — on your action bars and in your spellbook, not only here, which is where you usually meet a spell you want to track.

The window that stuck to the cursor is fixed properly. Four previous attempts each closed one route by which a drag could be left running, and there was always another. This one asserts the thing that is true whichever route it was: a window nobody is holding is not moving, checked every frame. If one ever does move somewhere the cursor did not ask for, it now says so in chat with the numbers.

Settings are shared across all your characters, and the Load tab is what tells an aura where to appear. The progress bar display mode is parked for now while the icon and text modes are finished.
