Description

Tired of World of Warcraft cramming every quest you accept straight into your objective tracker? No Auto Quest Track solves exactly that problem — quietly, reliably, and without compromise.

What Does This Addon Do?
Out of the box, WoW follows one simple rule: the moment you accept a quest, it gets automatically added to your Objective Tracker and shows up on the right side of your screen. That sounds convenient — until you're working through a quest hub, accepting five quests in a row, and suddenly your tracker is a wall of objectives you never asked to see.

Smart Detection: Automatic vs. Manual
The addon is smart enough to tell the difference between WoW's automatic tracking behavior and a deliberate player action. It allows tracking whenever:

  • The world map is open — a natural moment for players to consciously manage their quests
  • The quest log is open — whether it's WoW's default QuestMapFrame, the classic QuestLogFrame, or addon variants like ClassicQuestLog
  • A modifier key is held — Shift, Ctrl, or Alt signals to the addon that the player is actively making a choice
  • A supported quest tracker addon is open — including Kaliel's Tracker, Syling Tracker, BTWQuests, Wholly, QuestGuru, AllTheThings, World Quest Tracker, Questie, and Quester

On the flip side, if a quest acceptance dialog is open — the NPC quest window, Gossip Frame, ImmersionFrame, DialogueUI, and similar — every tracking attempt is blocked automatically, because in that moment the tracking is always coming from the game, not the player.

Slash Commands
/naqt — Open the settings window
/naqt on / /naqt off — Enable or disable blocking on the fly
/naqt clear — Remove all automatically tracked quests from your tracker
/naqt status — Display the current state of the addon
/naqt debug — Toggle debug mode on or off

Who Is This Addon For?

  • Players who want to keep their Objective Tracker clean and intentional
  • Quest-grinders who accept large batches of quests and want full control over what shows up on screen
  • Players using custom quest tracker addons who don't want Blizzard's auto-tracking interfering with their setup
  • Anyone who's ever thought: "Why are there 12 quests in my tracker when I only wanted to do one?"
