Nightlock – Brew, Coat & Track Your Poisons

Never fight with a clean blade. Track, recoat, or switch poisons in one click, even in combat, and brew more from a clean rogue bench. On your target, the health bar glows in the poison’s color and its name pops off the nameplate. For WoW: Forever.

What's new

Changelog

2.4.0

Bench

  • The Brewing list now lives on the Bench tab. Each poison is a row: your vial on the left (left-click main hand, right-click off hand, as before), and on the right the reagents for your best known rank, how many of each you have, and how many you can brew. Click the reagents for its costs
  • With an Auto-Buy target set, each poison says how many more to brew to reach it ("19 in bags - Rank I - brew 1")
  • Your rogues share what they know: a character that hasn't opened Poisons yet (or learned a new rank since) uses the reagents your other rogues have seen, for every recipe it knows
  • Thistle Tea is always the last row: count, cooldown, click to drink, and its Swiftthistle and Refreshing Spring Water with how many you can make
  • Open Poisons and your Poisons skill moved onto the Bench tab. The Brewing tab is gone (Quick Click, Costs, Combos and Settings move up one)

Opening the bench

  • Action bar button: Settings > Bench > Action bar button > Pick up puts a Nightlock macro on your cursor; drop it on any action bar slot
  • The gear under the close button is gone (the Settings tab does the same)

Side tabs

  • Nightlock's tabs now use the game's own side tabs, the same frame, shape, selected and mouse-over art as the tabs on your Talents window

Auto-Buy (new tab)

  • The bench opens tall enough to show the whole tab (and every other one)
  • Keep your poison reagents stocked. For each poison you know, set how many you want to keep; Nightlock works out the reagents for your best rank
  • "Count poisons I carry": vials already in your bags count toward the target, so you only buy for the rest
  • Any reagent can also have an "at least" minimum of its own
  • Count my bank (on to start): reagents waiting in your bank count as stocked, so they aren't bought again. Hover a reagent for bags / bank
  • Rogue supplies always listed with their own "at least": Flash Powder (Vanish) and Refreshing Spring Water (Thistle Tea)
  • Opening a vendor that sells them buys what's missing, never more than the vendor has, your gold-per-visit limit (1g to start, 0 = no limit), or your bag space. Only plain-gold items, never tokens
  • "Ask first" (on to start) shows a panel beside the vendor: each reagent with how many, what it's for and its cost, the total, and Buy / Not now. Turn it off to buy without asking; "Buy now" on the tab restocks from the open vendor; "Report in chat" lists what was bought and its cost
  • Each line of the buy panel shows the math when you already carry some: "for Instant, Crippling - need 2, have 1" buys 1
  • If a vendor's list is still loading when you open it, Auto-Buy checks again as it arrives instead of skipping the visit
  • Counts every version of a reagent a recipe takes, like the Bench does
  • Buys exactly what you need, also for reagents the vendor shows in bundles (vials show "5"): the vendor sells them one at a time at the per-vial price, so needing 2 vials buys 2
  • The tab shows, per reagent, what you have and what the next visit buys, with a total

Bench background

  • The bench now sits on the picture from your Poisons window (open it once and the bench picks it up; until then, the Assassination art). Nightlock only reads that one picture; it never changes the window. The background choice is gone
  • The picture fills the bench without stretching, at any size

Fixed

  • Auto-Buy asked for more vials after you'd already stocked up: the poisons you brewed didn't count toward your targets (only one exact rank was counted, and sometimes none). Every rank of a poison in your bags counts
  • Reagent counts and "can brew" could read 0 after logging in until you opened Poisons: the game reports your bags before Nightlock is ready. Nightlock now counts again just after every login, reload and loading screen
  • "Can brew" (and Auto-Buy's numbers) stayed at whatever they were the last time your Poisons window was open, so buying or using reagents didn't change them until you opened Poisons again. With the window closed, the bench now counts your remembered recipes from your bags every time they change
  • It also recounts when a vendor closes and whenever the bench opens, counts every version of a reagent a recipe takes, and one part of Nightlock hitting an error can no longer stop the others from updating
  • Remembered recipes could lose their reagents if the Poisons window opened before its details loaded. Nightlock now keeps what it knew, and never forgets a recipe it has seen

Costs

  • Click any reagent in the detail panel to type your own price (1g 20s, 45s, 80c). Your prices are marked *; clear the box to go back to the vendor price

Combos

  • The action-bar macro's icon (and tooltip) is now the poison that goes on next, instead of always the main-hand poison. It switches after the main hand is coated (outside combat; the game doesn't let addons edit macros in combat)
  • The combo's drag button shows that icon too
  • Fixed: the second press often coated the main hand again. Nightlock pointed the button back at the main hand the moment the cast ended, before it had read the new coat. Now it follows the cast itself: once you press, the button points at the other blade until that coat lands (and it's seen on the weapon) or the cast fails (moving, interrupted)
  • Out of combat the button no longer flips blindly on every press. It always goes to the blade that really needs coating, so a press during the cast, or one that fails, can't throw it off. In combat (where addons can't touch it) it still alternates main hand, off hand
  • After the first blade is coated, a message tells you to press again for the other. The game needs a key press for each 3-second coat, so a combo is still one press per blade
  • A hand with no weapon in it is skipped
