NetherQuester 1.0.12 - Hotfix: tooltips in dungeons
A /reload is required after updating.
Fixed:
* Hotfix: "attempt to index local 'c' (a secret table value)" when pointing at a unit
in a dungeon (reported from NetherBars' unit frames). Inside dungeons the game can hand back
a unit's tooltip information as secret data: the whole of it, its lines, one line, or a
line's colour. NetherQuester (quest lines in tooltips and the counts on nameplates) now
checks each part before reading it and leaves secret parts alone, so the tooltip still
shows and no error is raised.
NetherQuester 1.0.11 - Arrival announced once per quest
A /reload is required after updating.
Changed:
* Arriving at a quest's area is announced once: the arrived notice and sound play the first
time you reach one of a quest's objective areas. After that the arrow keeps guiding you to
the next spawn or camp until the quest is done, but arriving again (after each kill, or after
walking away and back) is quiet. Reaching the quest's turn-in is announced once too. A quest
abandoned and picked up again is announced again. With NetherMaps' arrow this needs
NetherMaps 1.5.15 or later.
Added:
* Navigation > "Announce arrival once per quest" (on by default). Off: every arrival is
announced, as before.
NetherQuester 1.0.10 - Hotfix: secret text
A /reload is required after updating.
Fixed:
* Hotfix: "attempt to compare local 't' (a secret string value)" in NetherFont.lua after a
/reload: the new font code that writes text again once its font is ready looked at text the
game keeps secret (a name in a dungeon or on a nameplate). It now leaves secret text alone,
never compares it, and leaves the game's own nameplates to the game.
NetherQuester 1.0.9 - The tracker's "?" and objective lines
A /reload is required after updating.
Fixed:
* The "?" in front of tracked quests, and some objective lines, were still empty (blank gaps
in the tracker): text written in a font the game hadn't finished preparing stayed empty until
it changed, and a "?" never changes. The family's shared font code now writes the text again
once the font is ready, so every "?" and every objective line shows.
NetherQuester 1.0.8 - Quests the data doesn't know, and resize options
A /reload is required after updating.
Fixed:
* Quest creatures had no kill count on their nameplates for quests NetherQuester's data
doesn't know (Forever's own quests among them, such as "Watching the Roads"), or for an
objective the data has no creature for. NetherQuester now reads the game's own quest lines for
the creature (the same lines its tooltip shows), and failing that finds the creature's name in
an unfinished kill objective. Item counts work the same way.
* Those quests had no marks on the minimap or the map. Where the data can't place a quest
or one of its objectives, the game's own mark for the quest is used (as the arrow already did).
* The "?" in front of each quest in the tracker could be missing (an empty gap where it should
be). It was written once, when the row was first made, and a font that wasn't ready at that
moment left it blank for good; it is now written again every time the tracker is drawn.
* The tracker's resize corner jumped to the cursor when you grabbed it: it now follows the
cursor from where it is, with no snap.
Added:
* Hold Shift while dragging the corner of the quest window or the tracker to keep its
proportions (General > Resizing the quest window and the tracker > "Shift keeps the shape", on).
* Double-click the resize corner to restore the standard size ("Double-click the corner for
the default size", on).
* The size shows by the cursor while you resize ("Show the size while resizing", on).
Changed:
* The quest window is moved by hand: it follows the cursor exactly and stops at the screen
edges, so it never jumps when a drag starts or ends.
NetherQuester 1.0.7 - Smooth resizing
A /reload is required after updating.
Fixed:
* The window could jump when you grabbed its corner: the top-left corner now stays exactly
where it is and the bottom-right corner follows your cursor from the moment you press, with no
snap when you let go.
* The window's frame art now scales with it: the corner brackets, the crest lines and the
accent rule under the title grow and shrink in proportion to the window.
Changed:
* The open page follows the window while you drag the corner, instead of catching up after you
stop.
* The window can no longer be dragged larger than the space left on screen.
NetherQuester 1.0.6 - The glow finds quest objects
A /reload is required after updating.
Fixed:
* No glow (and so no chime) over quest objects: on WoW: Forever the game doesn't always label
a world object's tooltip as an object's, so NetherQuester never saw them. It now looks at every
tooltip that appears over the world (not over a window, and never a creature's).
* Objects are recognised in more ways, not only by name against NetherQuester's own data:
- by the object's id (a renamed or translated object still counts);
- by the game's own quest line in its tooltip;
- by its name sharing the key words of an unfinished objective in your quest log, so
Forever's own quests the data doesn't know light up too. Kill objectives and finished
objectives don't count.
* The quest line NetherQuester adds to an object's tooltip appears once, and never on top of the
game's own quest line.
NetherQuester 1.0.5 - A chime with the glow
A /reload is required after updating.
Added (Settings > General, each with its own switch):
* Sound with the glow (on to start): as the glow lights on a quest object (a plant, a chest,
a crate your quest needs), a soft chime plays. Once for each thing you point at and at most
once a second, on the game's sound effects volume.
* ...and on quest creatures (off to start): the chime for creatures your quests need too.
NetherQuester 1.0.4 - Checked and polished
A /reload is required after updating.
Fixed:
* Unticking "NetherQuester follows the Nether theme" in NetherUI's Settings > Addons did
nothing. It now switches NetherQuester to its own look, and ticking it switches back.
* See-through windows and tracker looked almost solid with the theme's border on. The
border no longer brings a drop shadow, and the tracker's border fades with its opacity.
* On the Nether Classic theme, turning the theme border off left the classic border showing.
* The cursor glow was very faint, or stopped pulsing, with most NetherUI themes. It now takes
NetherUI's speed and intensity at their usual strength and keeps pulsing on every theme (Calm
in combat still holds it still in a fight).
* The quest count by the target frame could sit on a hidden frame when targeting from no
target, or when NetherBars' unit frames were switched on or off. It now follows whichever
addon draws the target frame.
* Quest lines on NetherMaps' creature markers didn't show on markers with a creature card
(NetherMaps 1.5.1 shows them there); they are also in the marker's detail panel now. "Hand in"
now reads "Turn in", like everywhere else.
* Old export strings and Nether profiles kept the theme's background on when they had Star
chart or Plain chosen. They now carry the choice over, as saved settings do.
* An export with your own objectives but no notes lost the objectives on import. (Since 1.0.0.)
* The tracker didn't fade at the start of combat with "Fade in combat" on, only later. (Since 1.0.0.)
* SharedMedia fonts were listed under "Nether" when NetherBars was installed.
* A font chosen by one name stopped being found when another addon listed the same file under
another name.
* Window-theme layers put away and brought back (code rain, PRISM) now come back only as the
current theme wants them.
Changed:
* Searching the settings lists settings whose name matches first ("font" finds Font first).
* "Fantasy ornaments" sits under "Theme window border" and says when it applies.
* NetherSuite's settings search finds the tracker colours again.
* Lighter on the game: the font list, font choice and Spectrum colour cycle are cached and reuse
their tables; the cursor glow reads its settings a few times a second instead of every frame.
