Your group speaks French, Russian, or Portuguese? Doesn't matter anymore.
DefAnnounce automatically announces your major defensive cooldowns — the "oh-shit buttons" — in chat, using raid target icons like {rt6} that every WoW client renders as a symbol. No language barrier, no typing, no WeakAuras setup. Press your defensive, and the whole group knows.
Features
- Auto-generated macros — the addon detects your class and creates one macro per major defensive CD (e.g. NX Survival Instincts). Drag them onto your bars once, and you're done.
- All 13 classes, all 40 specs — a curated list of every class's true panic buttons, updated for Midnight (12.0.7).
- Smart channel detection — Solo -> local / say, Party -> party chat, Raid -> raid chat, LFG/LFR -> instance chat. Each channel can be toggled individually.
- External CDs announce the target — Ironbark, Pain Suppression, Blessing of Protection, Life Cocoon, etc. post "IRONBARK on Playername".
- Group CDs include a call to action — Spirit Link / AMZ / Barrier -> "stack!", Darkness -> "stay in!".
- No false announces — pressing a spell that's on cooldown stays silent (cast-history based, fully compatible with Midnight's Secret Values system).
- Minimap button + options menu — toggle channels, rebuild macros, quick on/off via right-click. Also available in the addon compartment.
- Zero dependencies — no libraries, one file, taint-free by design.
Setup
- Install and log in — the macros are created automatically.
- Open the macro window (
/m), tab "character-specific".
- Drag the NX macros onto your action bars (replacing the plain spells).
- Done. Press your defensives as usual — the announce happens automatically.

Class-defining buttons like Astral Shift or Blur ignore the cooldown filter and are always included.
Why macros instead of fully automatic?
Midnight locked down automated chat messages: addons can no longer post to chat from combat-log events — only from your own keypress. The macro approach is the one reliable, ToS-safe way to announce automatically. The addon maintains the macros for you (Auto Potion style), so there's nothing to edit manually.
Languages
UI in English and German (auto-detected via client locale). Chat announces are intentionally English + raid symbols so that every group member can read them regardless of client language.

- Minimap-Button + Optionsmenue — Kanaele schalten, Makros neu erstellen, Rechtsklick = schnell an/aus. Auch im Addon-Fach verfuegbar.
- Null Abhaengigkeiten — keine Libraries, eine Datei, taint-frei by design.
Einrichtung
- Installieren und einloggen — die Makros werden automatisch erstellt.
- Makro-Fenster oeffnen (
/m), Reiter "charakterspezifisch".
- Die NX-Makros auf die Aktionsleisten ziehen (ersetzen die nackten Zauber).
- Fertig. Defensives wie gewohnt druecken — die Ansage passiert automatisch.

Klassendefinierende Buttons wie Astrale Verschiebung oder Verschwimmen ignorieren den Cooldown-Filter und sind immer dabei.
Warum Makros statt vollautomatisch?
Midnight hat automatisierte Chat-Nachrichten dichtgemacht: Addons duerfen nicht mehr aus Combat-Log-Events in den Chat posten — nur noch durch deinen eigenen Tastendruck. Der Makro-Ansatz ist der eine zuverlaessige, ToS-sichere Weg fuer automatische Ansagen. Das Addon pflegt die Makros fuer dich (Auto-Potion-Prinzip), du musst nichts von Hand editieren.
Sprachen
UI auf Englisch und Deutsch (automatisch anhand der Client-Sprache erkannt). Die Chat-Ansagen sind bewusst Englisch + Schlachtzugssymbole, damit jedes Gruppenmitglied sie unabhaengig von der Client-Sprache lesen kann.
