v0.40.60-forever
What's new
NazgrelUI changelog
0.40.60
- Countdown on the target's debuffs after all. WoW Forever has its own aura container for addons: the addon builds the icons, the game fills them, also in combat, with the icon, the sweep, the stacks and the time left as a number, without the addon ever reading those values. NazgrelUI now uses it for the "Target auras" element (debuffs in one row, buffs below), with your size, width, "Only my debuffs" and "Time left on aura icons". If the game refuses all debuffs this way, NazgrelUI shows your own with their time; if the client lacks the container, the game's own icons are moved as in 0.40.59 (without numbers).
/nzg reportsays which ("game container").
0.40.59
- Target auras in the right place, second try: the game accepted the new position of its aura icons without an error but ignored it (the report said "moved direct" while the icons stayed put). NazgrelUI now always moves the game's hidden target frame as well, so the icons land on the "Target auras" element either way, and checks whether the position really took.
- Countdown on the target's debuffs: not possible on this client. The game's own aura buttons cannot be reached by an addon at all (the report shows "no buttons"), so their numbers cannot be switched on; the game's sweep over the icon shows the time left.
0.40.58
- Target auras in the right place (seen in game: the debuff icon stayed inside the target frame, at the game's own hidden target frame). The game does not let an addon change where its aura icons are anchored; NazgrelUI now moves the game's hidden target frame instead, so the icons land exactly on the "Target auras" element, and again after you move it in Edit Mode. Switched off, the game's frame goes back to its own place.
- The countdown request no longer gets skipped when a step is refused;
/nzg report("game container") now lists each step the game refused.
0.40.57
- Target auras are their own Edit Mode element ("Target auras"): by default attached below the target frame (or above it, as chosen), now movable and scalable on their own.
- Time left on the target's debuffs: the game's own icons hide their countdown numbers; NazgrelUI asks them to show them (setting "Time left on aura icons"). The game may refuse this for its protected icons;
/nzg reportthen says so under "game container ... numbers".
0.40.56
- Target debuffs are back under the target frame. The reports from game showed why they were missing: WoW Forever keeps enemy buffs and debuffs from addons altogether (every question gives nothing, the aura messages are hidden), in combat and out of it. Only the game's own target frame may show them. NazgrelUI now puts the game's own aura icons under its target frame, at the size and place you chose, with the game's own timers. Unit frames > Player & target > "Target auras drawn by the game" (on by default); off gives NazgrelUI's own icons.
- If the game refuses this, NazgrelUI keeps its own icons and
/nzg reportsays why ("game container"). - Note: for the same reason Debuff timers cannot show enemy debuffs on this client.
0.40.55
/nzg report, "TARGET AURAS": also what the game's aura messages contain (empty, hidden or which fields) and how many debuff icons the game's own target frame has, to find out whether the game keeps the target's debuffs from addons in combat.
0.40.54
- Target debuffs, next step: the report from 0.40.53 showed that in combat the game gave no debuffs at all to any of NazgrelUI's questions, for the target and for its nameplate. The target frame now also uses what the game sends along with each aura change (the way the game's own frames work): new debuffs as they land, removed ones as they go.
- The "TARGET AURAS" part of
/nzg reportis more precise: also outside combat (to compare), more checks per fight, which functions the game has, and what came with the aura changes.
0.40.53
- Target debuffs on the target frame (seen in game: Rend on the target was not shown): the target frame now tries several ways to read the target's auras, also through the target's nameplate (which showed debuffs the target frame did not), and uses the first one that gives anything. One debuff the game will not let an addon draw no longer hides the rest of the row.
- Time left on aura icons: the game's own countdown in the icon, also in combat when the game hides the time from addons (Unit frames > Player & target, on by default).
/nzg reportnow has a "TARGET AURAS" part: in combat with a target, NazgrelUI notes now and then what each way of reading gave, without any chat lines. If debuffs are still missing, "Copy report" afterwards tells why.
0.40.52
- World map with a seamless map addon: NazgrelUI's map zoom and such an addon zoomed at the same time, and the map jumped whenever you zoomed out past another zone or city. NazgrelUI now notices by itself when another addon drives the world map's zoom (no list needed) and then does nothing on the world map: no extra zoom, no mouse wheel, no map switching. It says so once in chat.
0.40.51
- Another world map addon: add it under General > Other addons as "its folder name = World map window". NazgrelUI then leaves the world map alone from login (no extra zoom, no mouse wheel, no map switching) until you answer the question about it, and offers to switch its own world map part off. Coordinates, notes and waypoints on the map keep working. The World map window page says how.
0.40.50
- Debuff timers: debuffs on your target showed nothing in combat. The game hides aura names and timings from addons in combat, and those debuffs were left out. They are now shown with their icon and name and "time hidden" instead of a countdown (nothing is guessed; switch it off under Debuff timers > "Also when the game hides the time"). "Only my debuffs" now asks the game which debuffs are yours, like the target frame does, so your debuffs are found even when the game does not say who cast them.
0.40.49
- World map: one seamless map. Zooming in on a continent (or the world) goes over into the zone under the cursor at the same size and place, once the zone is the more detailed picture. Zooming out of a zone goes back to the continent at the same size and place. Drag a zoomed-in zone over its border and the map goes on into the next zone. Continents can be zoomed now too, and zones go further: up to 6x by default, 10x at most.
- If the game's world map has its own mouse wheel zoom, NazgrelUI switches it off while its own zoom is on, so they never zoom at the same time.
/nzg mapzoomshows what the map reports (handy for a bug report). - Mail templates and your alts: mail went to the short name, and the game asked for the full character name. NazgrelUI now remembers each character's full name as the game writes it (from your own chat lines, guild or community), and the alt list, the templates and the mailbox use it. Log in once on each alt for this. A template that never gets an answer from the mailbox no longer stays busy.
0.40.48
- World map zoom with the mouse wheel (World map window > Zoom, on by default):
- In a zone, the wheel zooms in and out around the cursor, up to 4x by default (adjustable from 1.5x to 8x). Drag with the left mouse button to move the zoomed map.
- On the world or a continent, the wheel goes into the continent or zone under the cursor, so you can scroll from the whole world deep into a zone without clicking.
- Scrolling out of a fully zoomed-out map goes to the map above it.
- Quest markers, notes and waypoints stay in their places. The map's own picture sets the limit for detail: far in, it gets larger, not sharper.
- Each part can be switched off; smooth or instant zooming.
0.40.47
- Mail templates: Manage templates now opens a separate movable, scrollable editor, without opening the main settings window or closing the mailbox.
- Your alts: the recipient selector uses your own recorded characters on the current realm. Core login records also work when the Characters module is disabled. Manual recipients remain supported.
- Debuff timers: optional movable countdown bars for your target or yourself, with ownership and spell filters, configurable size, icons and maximum bars. Enable under Combat > Debuff timers and position with Edit Mode. Actual aura durations are used; inaccessible timings are never guessed.
- New mocked regressions and a focused in-game acceptance checklist. In-game validation is still required.
0.40.46
- Back: a button above the settings sidebar returns to your previous page, tab or search results, including the scroll position.
- Shaman weapon imbues: the Class status reminder now works for every Shaman specialisation. Click the missing main-hand imbue to choose Rockbiter, Flametongue, Frostbrand or Windfury (only learned spells can be cast). Also available with
/nzg imbue. Choose out of combat; combat closes the picker. Every cast requires your own click. - Totems: hidden combat timings are passed directly to the game's widgets without comparisons; old icons and cooldown sweeps are cleared when data cannot be displayed. Totems also refresh after missed events, have visible Edit Mode placeholders and defer protected layout changes until after combat.
0.40.45
New:
- Ready for the dungeon? One window checks your gear, free bag slots, food and drink, potions, class reagents, ammo and the group buffs. Open it with
/nzg ready, the new "Am I ready?" button on the group toolbar, or "Check now" under Reminders. When you join a group it opens by itself, but only when something is missing (you can switch that off). - Supplies in your bags: a row at the top of the bag window shows food, healing and mana potions, bandages, class reagents and ammo with how many you carry. Anything below its limit gets a red border. The limits are set in one place (Reminders > Supplies), with an optional chat line when something runs low.
- Mail templates: a fixed recipient with kinds of items, for example "all ore and herbs to my alt". At the mailbox, one click sends one letter with up to 12 matching items. Soulbound and quest items and gold are never sent. Make templates under Mailbox > Templates; they are kept for all your characters.
- When which profile: one page shows where you are, the profile in use and why, and the rules per place and per specialisation. The settings for automatic switching moved there from the Profiles page, so they are in one place. Your character's class layout can now follow its specialisation with a button (before: only
/nzg layout follow). - Errors in the settings window: when something goes wrong, a notice above the buttons offers "Copy report", the same text as
/nzg report, without character names.
Also: a licence file (all rights reserved).
0.40.44
More fixes from the review, in the settings window and core:
- Text fields in the settings now save when you click elsewhere, not only on Enter; Escape still restores the old text.
- Two confirmations at the same time no longer replace each other: the second waits until the first is answered. Their title and text now follow the language.
/nzg profile,/nzg resetand friends say why something failed (for example "the Default profile cannot be deleted") instead of only "Failed."- Resetting a module's settings now also updates what is on screen for modules like Specialisation, Combo points, Totems and Gear & bags, and settings such as the debug log follow the reset right away.
- The Reset button on the Modules page says that positions and the module's data in this profile are reset too.
- Edit Mode: the "Visible" choice is greyed out for elements that decide their own visibility in their module settings (it was silently ignored there). The labels on the movers and "Offset X / Y" are translated.
- A renamed layout profile stays linked to your character's class layout.
- A layout question and a layout update that both wait for the end of combat no longer replace each other.
- "Setup not finished" is mentioned once per version, not at every login.
/nzg reportalso leaves out character names with accents (Éowyn, Zoë).- Language page: the tip now points to the NL | EN buttons at the bottom left.
0.40.43
Fixes from a full review of the addon:
- Heal frames: the target-of-target window now gets its spell buttons, size and click-to-heal (it got none).
- Heal frames: switching off "Use the click-to-heal mouse buttons" now clears them on members right away, not only after a reload.
- Heal frames: the visibility "In instance", "In PvP" or "Resting" now follows zone changes; in a raid the windows no longer stand empty; a drag still going on when combat starts ends cleanly.
- Heal frames: "Fill in healer spells" no longer puts the same spell on two buttons, and says when there was nothing to fill in.
- Interrupt button: no sound and no lit border for casts that may not be interruptible (the game hides that in combat); the opacity chosen in Edit Mode now works.
- Trinkets: an empty trinket slot says so in its tooltip; the cooldown sweep is no longer wiped in combat.
- Mailbox window: "Take all" takes every attachment (it kept taking the first slot); Delete, Return and paying cash on delivery first check that it is still the same letter; sending gold asks first, like the game's mailbox.
- Mailbox "Open all": a letter with a unique item you already have is skipped instead of stopping the whole run.
- Loot rolls: after Need or Greed on a bind-on-pickup item the row stays (dimmed) until the roll is over, so if you cancel the game's confirmation you can still choose.
- Bank: switching profiles now applies that profile's bank choice right away.
- Gear & bags: no more warnings and sound at every login for gear or bags that were already like that; you are warned when it changes.
- Reminders uses the same "gear about to break" limit as Gear & bags (there were two limits, 20% and 25%).
- Compact item stats: the "Hold Alt" line is now really at the bottom of the tooltip.
- Guild Crafting: far fewer addon messages to your guild and community (they were sent every time someone logged on or went away).
- Quest book: asks the server for quest data more calmly.
0.40.42
- Edit Mode: when you close it, the world map, the quest book and the quest log window close again. A window you already had open before Edit Mode stays open.
0.40.41
- Edit Mode: the bags, the quest book and the quest log window no longer jump to the front. They are see-through and stay behind the other elements while Edit Mode is open, so they never cover what you want to move. Afterwards they look as before.
0.40.40
- Spell buttons next to group members now have one home: Heal frames. The party and raid frames no longer have their own spell buttons, so there are no two places that do the same thing. If you had set them up on the party frames, your spells move to Heal frames once and Heal frames is switched on for you.
- Click to heal (a spell per mouse click on a member) stays under Party & raid frames and also works on the heal frames.
0.40.39
- Heal frames: every window now has a small title bar ("Group", "Pets", "Target of target"). Drag it to move the window while you play, also outside Edit Mode (not in combat: the game does not allow moving these frames then). The position is kept, just like after moving it in Edit Mode. The windows can be locked and the title bars hidden under Heal frames > Windows.
0.40.38
- New: bag button for opening your bags with the mouse (Bags > Bag button, off by default). One click opens or closes your bags, optionally with the number of free slots on it. Move it anywhere in Edit Mode ("Bag button").
0.40.37
- Mana regeneration timer: placed somewhere else (for example over your action bars after "Attach to: Screen" in Edit Mode) it no longer disappears behind other frames.
- Mana regeneration timer: the opacity you choose in Edit Mode now works.
- New command /nzg manatimer: shows what the timer sees (switched on, uses mana, the last spell and whether it costs mana, where the bar is). Handy when it seems to do nothing.
0.40.36
- New: Heal frames (switch it on under Modules). Separate healing windows apart from the party frames: a group window (you and your party), and optionally a pets window (your pet and your party's pets) and a target-of-target window. Every member has up to 5 spell buttons next to it: click one to cast that spell on that member. Each window can be moved freely in Edit Mode and has its own visibility there. The click-to-heal mouse buttons of the party frames also work here (can be switched off).
0.40.35
- New under General > Other addons: if you use another addon for something NazgrelUI also does (for example bags or action bars), list it there. NazgrelUI then asks once whether to switch its own part off.
- Appearance offers NazgrelUI's and the game's own fonts.
0.40.34
- Mana regeneration timer: its own look under Class helper > Mana timer look: colour of the 5 seconds and of the ticks, background, texture (flat, game bar, smooth), optional border with its own colour, the seconds left as text, and optionally keep the empty bar visible. It is its own bar in Edit Mode ("Mana Timer"); choose "Attach to: Screen" there to place it anywhere instead of under the player frame.
0.40.33
- Interrupt button: the visibility you choose in Edit Mode (for example "In combat" or "In group") now works.
- Interrupt button: new choice "Only when needed" (the default): the button only appears when your target casts something you can interrupt. In combat the game does not allow hiding it, so it becomes invisible and stays clickable, also with your key binding. "Whenever you have an enemy target" keeps the old behaviour.
- Interrupt button: optional sound when you can interrupt (once per cast). Choose it under Interrupts & boss warnings > Interrupt.
0.40.32
- The mana regeneration timer now also works on WoW Forever, where the game hides your mana: the bar starts when you cast a spell that costs mana and shows the 5 seconds without spirit regeneration. The 2-second ticks after that cannot be shown on this client. (Class helper > Mana timer; move it in Edit Mode.)
- New: Trinkets (switch it on under Modules). Two buttons for your trinkets with icon and cooldown: click to use one, also in combat. Hover a trinket to get a menu with the trinkets in your bags: left-click puts one in that slot, right-click in the other slot. In combat the game does not allow swapping, so your choice waits and is put on right after combat.
0.40.31
- New: compact item stats (Tooltips > Item stats, on by default). Long "Equip:" sentences on items become short lines, for example "+1% Crit", "+12 Spell Damage / Healing", "+4 Mana per 5 sec" or "+5 Sword Skill". Only sentences NazgrelUI knows exactly are changed; procs, "Use:" effects, set bonuses and conditions ("when fighting Undead") stay as the game wrote them. Hold Alt to see the original text. Each group of stats can be switched off; shortening enchant lines is optional (off by default). English game client only.
0.40.30
- Copy diagnosis: a text to add to a bug report (Help page, Home page, or /nzg report; /nzg report full adds technical details). You see it first, nothing is sent, and character names and realms are left out.
- Edit Mode: "Check layout" lists frames that are off the screen, made too small, or attached to something that is not there, plus frames that cover each other (only a suggestion). Select shows the frame; one click puts it back. Only that frame changes, and Undo takes it back.
- An error message in chat now also points to /nzg report.
0.40.29
- Module status in plain words, the same everywhere (the dot in the sidebar, the module's page and the Modules page): switched on, switched off in this profile, applied after combat, waiting for another module ("Switch on Specialisation to use Proc Alerts"), not available on this client, or stopped after errors (with where to find the details).
- Search finds settings by their Dutch names too, and by common words: "tassen", "bags" and "inventory" lead to the same place, as do "kaart"/"map", "geluid"/"sound" and more.
- Every group of search results has an "Open this page" button that opens the page on the right tab.
- When nothing is found, the search gives a hint on what to try.
0.40.28
- Mailbox "Open all": an item only counts as received when the game clearly shows it left the letter; otherwise NazgrelUI waits and stops with "The mailbox did not respond".
0.40.27
- Loot rolls: after switching the module off and on, new rolls are visible again.
- Loot rolls: a roll that ended while NazgrelUI was still waiting for its item no longer brings back the game's roll frames.
- Mailbox "Open all": when the game does not answer clearly, nothing is counted as received in the summary.
0.40.26
- Damage meter, Loot rolls, Flight bar, Reminders and the quest log window can be moved in Edit Mode again after you switched their module off and on.
- Loot rolls: when more rolls come in than NazgrelUI shows (or an item has no data yet), the game's own roll frames appear as well, so you never miss a roll.
- Mailbox "Open all": the summary only counts what you really received, and stopping and restarting quickly no longer runs it twice.
- Switching profiles now applies the settings of the Mailbox, Loot rolls, Damage meter, Reminders and Flight master right away.
- Proc Alerts switch back on by themselves when you switch Specialisation back on.
- Reminders: a hidden reminder comes back after 15 minutes by itself.
0.40.25
- Damage meter: also shows absorbs, damage taken, avoidable damage taken, interrupts, dispels and deaths. Choose under "Show"; clicking the title goes through damage and healing, or through everything if you prefer.
0.40.24
- Mailbox window: mail to a suggested player from another realm now uses their full character name, so the game no longer says "you must specify the full character name". New command /nzg mailnames <name> shows the full names NazgrelUI knows.
0.40.23
- Mailbox window: name suggestions now also include the members of your communities and the players you met in chat (whispers, guild, group, say, Trade and other channels).
0.40.22
- Mailbox window: while you type a name in "To", matching names appear below it (recent recipients, your own characters, friends, guild and group). Click one, or press Enter or Tab for the first.
- Mailbox window: the text box for your message is now a proper large box instead of one line.
0.40.21
- New: NazgrelUI's own mailbox window (Mailbox > "Hide the game's mailbox", off by default). An inbox with your letters, their text, gold and items (take one or all, reply, return, delete) and a send page with recipient, subject, text, items, gold or cash on delivery and your recent recipients. Cash on delivery is only paid after you confirm. Switch it off to get the game's mailbox back at once.
0.40.20
- Damage meter: the visibility you choose in Edit Mode (for example "In combat") now works.
- Mailbox: NazgrelUI's panel now always closes together with the mailbox.
- Guild Crafting: no more repeated "No player named ... is currently playing" messages in chat when a guild or community member goes offline. NazgrelUI then leaves that player alone for a few minutes.
0.40.19
- Specialisation: fixed an error in the threat meter's aggro warning during combat ("attempt to compare ... secret string value"). After ten of these errors the module switched itself off.
- Target frame: the portrait now changes along with your target in combat; before, it could keep showing the previous face.
0.40.18
- New: Damage meter (switch it on under Modules). Damage, DPS, healing and HPS per group member, for the current fight or overall, in NazgrelUI's style. The numbers come from the game's own damage meter, so no combat log is needed and nothing breaks the rules. In combat the game hides names and amounts from addons; NazgrelUI shows them as the game allows.
- /nzg check now remembers what your game client offers and tells you what changed after a game update.
- The Home, Profiles and Modules pages now have the same card style as the rest of the settings.
0.40.17
- New: Reminders. A small checklist out of combat: food and drink running out, gear about to break, bags almost full when you enter a dungeon, rested XP full. In a dungeon with a group also missing group buffs and group members low on mana. Every check can be switched off or tuned.
- Guild Crafting: clicking a crafter opens a whisper with your request already typed, including the item and the materials you will send. You still press Enter yourself; the text is adjustable.
- Experience bar: the time to the next level can now be based on the last 15, 30 or 60 minutes instead of the whole session.
- New: quest route. The "Route" button in the quest log (or /nzg route) sets waypoints to your quests, nearest first, so the arrow takes you from one to the next.
- New: gathering notes. Herbs you pick and ore you mine are noted on the world map automatically (can be switched off under Map).
0.40.16
- New: Mailbox. An "Open all" button takes gold and items from your mail in one click (cash on delivery mail is never paid), with a summary of what you took. Recent recipients and your own characters can be clicked to fill in the "To" box.
- New: Flight master. NazgrelUI learns how long your flights take and shows the time in the flight map. A flight bar shows the time left, and when you land you get a sound, a chat message and a flashing game icon (each optional).
- New: Loot rolls in NazgrelUI's style: Need, Greed, Disenchant and Pass with quality colour, tooltip and timer. Optional: pass automatically on items your class cannot use (off by default).
0.40.15
- Target frame: your debuffs on the target now also show below the target frame, like on its nameplate.
- New command
/nzg auras: shows what the game reports about your target's debuffs (handy for bug reports).
0.40.14
- Interrupts: "Interrupt now!" and the interrupt colour on the target cast bar now also work in combat, when the game hides the details of the enemy's cast. The same goes for the interrupt button.
0.40.13
- The quest window is now a complete quest log: all your quests on the left (grouped by zone, zones can be folded), details of the selected quest on the right. Right-click a quest in the list for a waypoint.
- The quest log key (L) opens this quest log instead of the world map. Prefer the game's version? Switch off "Quest log key opens this window" under Quests.
0.40.12
- New: quest details in a separate window. A left-click on a quest in the tracker opens a readable window with objectives, description and rewards, plus buttons to show the quest on the map, set a waypoint or share it with your group. The world map stays free. Prefer the game's version? Switch off "Quest details in a separate window" under Quests.
- The quest direction line (right-click a quest in the tracker) is now also shown on the world map, from you to the quest. Can be switched off under Waypoints.
0.40.11
- World map (adjustable layout): when you open a quest (for example by clicking it in the quest tracker), the window grows by the width of the quest log, so the map keeps its full size next to the quest details.
0.40.10
- World map (adjustable layout): the map no longer opens small in the top-left corner the first time. It now fills its window right away.
0.40.9
- Group toolbar: the visibility you choose in Edit Mode now works (for example "In raid" hides the bar in a normal party). It is still only shown while you are in a group.
0.40.8
- New: Group toolbar. Raid markers on your target, ground markers, ready check and leave group in one bar in NazgrelUI's style. Only shown while you are in a group; move it in Edit Mode.
- The game's group manager at the left edge of the screen is hidden (can be switched back on under Group toolbar).
0.40.7
- Quest tracker: a clear collapse button (-/+) in the header. Collapsed, only the header stays on screen.
- Quest tracker: click a zone name to collapse or expand only that zone; the number of hidden quests is shown.
0.40.6
- Proc Alerts: fixed an error in Edit Mode when no proc was active. The module no longer switches itself off after opening Edit Mode.
0.40.5
First release on CurseForge.
- New settings window: tabs per module, settings in cards and two columns, a fixed Reset / Reload UI / Done bar, and an on/off dot for every module in the sidebar.
- Guild Crafting: synchronisation now works between characters on different realms, and hovering a recipe shows the materials to send the crafter.
- Gold is shown as gold, silver and copper everywhere (the bank tooltip showed raw numbers).
- World map: optional close button (X) while the map border is hidden.
- Cast bar: hidden between casts (setting "Hide when not casting").
- Unit frames: health and power numbers, a separate target health format, adjustable level text, portraits on target-of-target and pet.
- Target cast bar attached below the target frame; target debuffs stay visible in combat.
- Proc Alerts: Execute for warriors; reactive abilities are also detected in combat.
- Macro library: "My macros" – save your own macros and share them with import/export.
