Description
MyMapHistory automatically records your character’s travels and displays them as a persistent route across a detailed map of Azeroth.
Designed specifically for World of Warcraft: Forever, the addon creates a visual history of your journey as you level, explore zones, use flight paths, die, resurrect, and travel between the continents.
MAIN FEATURES

• Persistent history saved separately for each character
• Detailed, zoomable map of Azeroth with multiple levels of detail

• Collapsible settings panel with preferences saved per character
• Optimized progressive rendering for large travel histories

HOW TRACKING WORKS
While your character is moving outdoors, MyMapHistory records a position approximately every five seconds. The addon automatically separates routes when it detects a continent change, an instance transition, a death, a resurrection, unavailable coordinates, or an unusually large movement that should not be connected by a line.
Position tracking is paused inside dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, and arenas to prevent invalid routes from being drawn. Deaths and level-ups are still recorded, even when no usable map position is available.
DISPLAY AND FILTERING
Open the map to view the complete recorded journey of the current character. You can zoom under the cursor, drag the map, enable or disable individual route and event categories, and restrict the displayed history by date or character level.
These controls only affect what is displayed. They never delete recorded data, and tracking continues normally while filters are active.
PERFORMANCE AND SAVED DATA
Travel history is stored in a compact format inside the standard World of Warcraft SavedVariables folder. The map uses tiled textures and only loads the detail required for the current view.
Large histories are decoded and rendered progressively to reduce interface freezes and unnecessary memory usage. All data remains stored locally on your computer and is never transmitted.
COMMAND
/mmh — Open or close MyMapHistory.
COMPATIBILITY
MyMapHistory is designed for World of Warcraft: Forever 1.60.1.
The current in-game interface is available in English.
MAP ASSETS AND PROVENANCE
An earlier submission of MyMapHistory used images displayed by the WCLBox interactive map as the basis for its bundled map textures. Following CurseForge moderation feedback, those textures were completely removed and replaced in version 1.6.1.
The current map asset set was rebuilt from minimap resources extracted from a locally installed WoW Forever beta client using wow.export 0.2.19. One tile that could not be read from the local client data was retrieved by wow.export directly from Blizzard’s Battle.net CDN using FileDataID 207936. The extracted resources were assembled on the addon’s existing coordinate canvas, resampled into four detail levels, and converted into 1,089 BLP2/DXT1 textures for in-game display.
No texture obtained from WCLBox is included in version 1.6.1. Detailed source information, checksums, build information, and transformation steps are provided in ASSET_PROVENANCE.txt inside the addon archive.
The original World of Warcraft artwork is owned by Blizzard Entertainment. MyMapHistory is an independent fan-made addon and is not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment, WCLBox, or wow.export.
