Description

MetaCodex
From real fights, not from guides.
Talent builds with import strings, gear with drop sources, enchants, gems, consumables, stat targets and the top players of your spec — for Mythic+, raid and every PvP bracket. Measured from what the best actually had equipped when they set their best runs.
Type /mc.
English and German. The interface follows your client's language;
/mc lang de|en|autooverrides it.Auctionator is optional. Without it MetaCodex still shows everything — only the handover to the auction house is missing.
What is in it
Talents, ready to paste
The most common build for your spec, with the alternatives and their share. Every string comes from a real player's client; none is computed. One click puts it up to copy, paste it into the talent window's import box, done.
For raid and PvP every string is checked before it counts as a build: the talents in the profile must match the ones the same player had in the ranked fight. What fails the check is not offered.
Below that stand the single talents with their share, and a picker keeps the hero trees apart: Stormbringer and Totemic are two decisions, not one average.
Gear with its source
Per slot the five most worn pieces with share, item level and the highest key they were still worn in. Plus where they come from: which boss in which instance, which PvP vendor, or honestly "not in the journal".
At the top right you pick your keystone — by upgrade track like KeystoneLoot — and every tooltip shows the item at exactly the level you would get. A source filter narrows the list to the dungeon you are running today.
What you already own, the row says: equipped or already in your bags.
Enchants and gems, against your gear
What the best wear on which slot, with two alternatives per slot and the special socket kept apart.
The comparison is done properly: a slot counts as done when the recommended enchant is on it, not when any enchant is. A different one is named and the slot stays on the list. Empty sockets are counted, the special socket by the gem that actually sits in it, and your bags and bank are subtracted.
Crafting tiers count: a higher tier in your bags covers the need, a lower one is shown but does not.
Death Knights are not asked a question they cannot answer: their weapon enchant is a runeforge, and it is shown as one, never as something to buy.
Consumables, including your own
Grouped by kind: flask, food, combat potion, healing potion, weapon oils, runes. Per kind the share, your target and your stock.
Click a row to say which one you use. Your pick comes from your own bags, moves to the top and is counted; the shopping list and the reminder buy that one from then on. A cheaper food that appears in no ranking is still your food. The target amount is a menu, or a number you type.
Top players
The top of each spec and activity, clickable. Behind it the profile: that player's import string, their address and their full gear with enchants and gems — every piece with a tooltip at exactly the level they wear.
The reminder, your way
Before the pull MetaCodex tells you what is missing. How it tells you is yours to pick: a chat line with clickable item links, its own movable window, a raid warning across the screen, a sound — one or several. A preview shows exactly what would appear.
The window lists the items with icons and carries the same two buttons as the main window: create the shopping list, or search now.
Two clicks to the auction house
Create shopping list writes an Auctionator list, with the quantity per item, not just the name. Search now searches immediately.
MetaCodex only touches lists with its own name (MetaCodex: Frost). Your
own lists stay untouched.
Ten activities, four platforms
M+ (High Keys), M+ (+7 to +21), raid in three difficulties, 2v2, 3v3, Solo Shuffle, RBG, RBG Blitz.
The numbers come from raider.io, murlok.io, Warcraft Logs and Battle.net — one at a time or together. Each platform measures what it measures: Warcraft Logs the consumables and the raid, murlok the PvP brackets, raider.io the M+ runs, Battle.net the official PvP leaderboards with rating.
Nothing is shown that no platform can answer. A tab without data disappears, an activity without data disappears, a platform without data leaves the picker. There are no consumables under PvP because nobody measures them there — so there is no tab for them.
What it does not do
It does not guess. Where a number is missing, none is shown — and where one is shown, it says which platform it came from and when.
It downloads nothing. All data ship with the addon and are collected once a day; in the game nothing is fetched from the internet. Only ids are stored, names and icons come from your client — which is why every line is right on any language client.

Four ways in: the minimap button, the round icon on the character frame,
/mc, and the addon compartment. Both buttons are on out of the box, both
can be dragged and switched off under Settings.
Where the data come from
The catalog — every gem, every enchant, which stat it carries, which tier is the stronger one, which boss drops what — is generated from the game's own DB2 tables, the same ones the client uses. None of it is copied, and every id can be verified.
The recommendations are built from the four platforms' public data, once a night. Under "Info" the window shows when each one last measured. An addon that quietly hands out numbers from the last patch would be worse than none.
