Macro Workshop 1.0.0
What's new
Macro Workshop 1.0.0 (first version)
Blizzard's macro window, made easier. Everything happens in the window you already know, and your macros stay plain text.
- Move & resize: drag the macro window by its title, and drag the corner grip to make it bigger (a larger text box and more icons). Its place and size are remembered; reset them in the settings or with /macroworkshop reset.
- Command list: a Commands button opens a list beside the window with commands, targets, conditions, your spells, pet abilities, usable items and mounts. Search, foldable groups, and a plain explanation with an example for every entry. It stays hidden until you open it.
- Click or drag: click an entry to add it at the cursor, or drag it into the macro text where you want it. Conditions join the right <input disabled="disabled" type="checkbox" />, commands get their own line, and spells fill in the command.
- Templates: 16 ready-made macros (mouseover heal, cast on focus, stop and interrupt, trinket + spell, mount up, pet attack and more), explained part by part. Your interrupt fills in by itself.
- Autocomplete: suggestions for commands after /, conditions inside <input disabled="disabled" type="checkbox" />, and your own spells and items as you type. Up/Down, Tab or Enter, Esc.
- Keep your bars: drag a spell from an action bar into the macro and its name goes in while the spell stays on the bar. Spells from the spellbook, items from your bags and mounts work too.
- Explains as you type: stop at the end of a word and a tooltip explains it: what a command or condition does, when it's useful, and an example. Spells and items show their own tooltip.
- Syntax colors: soft code-editor colors for commands, conditions, targets, spells and separators, with a High Contrast choice. Only drawn on screen: your saved macro stays plain text and the 255-character count is unchanged.
- Friendly checks: one line under the text box with the character count and "Looks good." or the first problem ("Did you mean /cast?"). Point at it to see every line explained.
- Lightweight & dependency-free: Just install and play! Open with /macro (or /macroworkshop); settings in Options > AddOns > Macro Workshop.
Made for WoW Forever; also for Retail, MoP Classic, Titan, TBC Anniversary and Classic Era.
