LotusChatv.1.1.1.zip
What's new
1.1.1
- Quick chat voices: pick how quick chat sounds: your race and class (default), Plain ("Yes." "GG." "Lust now."), or one of 16 archetypes in the spirit of Warcraft characters (new since the first build: Archdruid, Deathlord, Illidari, Innkeeper and Corsair). Each archetype words every quick chat line: greetings, statements, tank commands, Lust timing, battle res, interrupts (keeping your spell's name), healthstones and portals.
- Accents: Full (the default) now gives each race its full voice even on its plainer lines: a goblin talks like a fast-talking Jersey salesman, a troll says "da" and "mon", a dwarf says "ye" and "tae", a Kul Tiran says "aye" and "mate". Races without an accent get their own way of speaking instead: a blood elf calls you "darling", the Forsaken call you "living one", an orc adds "Lok'tar!", a pandaren "Walk lightly." Or pick As written, or Smoothed for plain English.
/lotus accentsswitches between them. - Per-character settings: every option, your Favorites and the button are now saved per character, so a tank and an alt healer can be set up differently. Your old settings carry over to every character, and Tools can save one character's setup as the starting point for new ones.
- Lotus click mix: choose what a plain click draws from: wisdom, lore, silly sayings, jokes.
- Lore about where you are: a new "Lore about where I am" item at the top of the Lore menu, and when the click picks lore, most of the time it's about where you're standing, closest place first: the spot you're in by its whole name (Kun-Lai Pass, Lion's Rest, Waterspeaker's Sanctuary), then the zone, then the area around it, then the continent. Every line about a place plays once before any of them repeats, and leaving the zone and coming back starts it fresh. Place lines cover every zone in retail, from the starting areas to K'aresh and Harandar, and thousands of towns, landmarks, camps and city districts inside them (the Great Forge, Murder Row, the Valley of Strength, the Seat of the Aspects, Foundation Hall). Inside a dungeon or raid it tells you about that place first: every dungeon and raid in the game has its own lines, from Ragefire Chasm to the Altar of Fangs, The Venomous Abyss and the Unbinding of Kith'ix, then the zone outside it.
- Lore rewritten: the shared lore lines (places, legends, classes, tales) now say why the fact matters, with a lesson, a point of view or a joke, instead of reading like a wiki page.
- Lore in your own voice: every race brings lore up in its own words, with five or six openers each ("Lorewalker Cho tells it like this:", "Free fact, pal:", "Before I died, I learned this:", "Every sailor knows this:"). About half of lore lines get an opener; the rest speak for themselves, and the accents now come through in lore too. Wolf-form Worgen get a light cockney layer. Quoted words keep their spelling.
- Tavern music: the options window plays the kazoo tune from the inns of Pandaria while it is open (the game's own music, on your music volume) and fades it out gently when you close it. A tiny speaker in the title bar mutes it on all your characters until you turn it back on.
- Favorites sort themselves the way the main menu is laid out: quick chat first, group by group, then the in-character situations, with a divider between.
- Resizable options window and text size: drag the corner grip, click A- or A+ in the title bar, or hold Ctrl and turn the mouse wheel to make the text and everything with it bigger or smaller. The window refits as you go, never runs off the screen, and remembers the size; double-click the grip to reset. A long tab scrolls with the mouse wheel.
- Send To switch at the bottom of the menu: Only Me, /say, Group.
- Chat box button: an option for a small lotus right above the chat bubble button, one click to the menu.
- Statements in quick chat: "I don't know the mechanics for this fight", "First time here", "Need a summon" and more.
- Lust: quick chat calls it Lust on both sides, and tanks get "Keep Lust on cooldown".
- Commands for tanks: a new quick chat group of short orders: wait here, follow me, stack, spread, line of sight, kill the marked target, interrupt the casters, skip this pack and more.
- Fuller race and class flavor across quick chat: every race now words the tank commands, statements, Lust timing and role calls too, kept short. A Brewmaster's tea becomes brew; the Light is An'she for tauren.
- Many new lines, so every race has plenty to say when things go wrong, when waiting and when getting ready.
- The menu keeps every line in the same place each time it opens. Short quotes moved to the options title bar.
- 600 Warcraft quotes from about 270 characters under the menu title and at the bottom of the options window, from Warcraft II and III units to Northrend and Shadowlands. The menu and the footer each go through them separately, and the same speaker never shows twice in a row.
- Fortune cookie: crack one open on the new Extras! tab (or
/lotus cookie) for one of 88 WoW-flavored fortunes (real predictions, not proverbs, drawn at random like a real cookie) and a lucky dungeon: one of the famous farms, like Stratholme for Deathcharger's Reins or Icecrown Citadel for Invincible. Collections are warband-wide, so it never names a drop you already own. One cookie a session, so make it count. The cookie is round now, without the icon's dark corners. - The line counts on the Tools tab leave out the place lines, so the numbers stay readable, with a note that lore about the places of Azeroth comes on top.
- "Start every line pile over" on the Tools tab also starts the lines about where you are over.
- Ask Lorewalker Cho on the Extras! tab: type anything and Cho answers, in the style of the old ELIZA chat programs. Just for you, nothing is posted.
- Search in the options window: type a word to find a setting and jump to it.
- Words of address and sayings fit their lines better: no "my friend" tacked onto a story about someone else, and rallying cries like "Lok'tar!" only after lively lines, never after a calm thought.
- Option tooltips sit above the row instead of covering it.
- Lore lines checked against the Warcraft wiki for every race; a few fixed or removed.
- License: Lotus Chat is now free software under the GNU General Public License v3 (or later). See LICENSE.txt.
- Fixes: right-click pinning, setting changes now apply to lines already waiting in a tooltip, {He} keeps its capital, duplicate lines removed, lines can never run past chat's 255-character limit, a few lines that used game words reworded.
