What's new
Changelog – 1.0.37
Adventure Guide Improvements
- Added support for reading the Dungeon and Raid overview lore directly from the Adventure Guide.
- Ctrl + Left Click on the LoreReader button now starts a complete Dungeon or Raid narration.
- Read All now reads:
- the instance introduction first
- followed by every boss
- including each boss name before its description
- LoreReader automatically switches to the boss currently being narrated.
- The corresponding boss model view is opened automatically when available.
- Added an option to allow Adventure Guide narration to continue after the Adventure Guide has been closed.
- Improved Previous, Next, Pause and Resume behavior during complete instance narration.
Speech Priority System
- Added a new automatic speech priority system to prevent different types of dialogue and TTS from talking over each other.
- The current priority order is:
- Native voiced dialogue
- NPC Interaction Voice Lines
- NPC Speech Bubble TTS
- LoreReader narration
- Lower-priority speech is automatically paused while higher-priority speech is active.
- LoreReader resumes automatically when the higher-priority speech has finished.
- Manually paused LoreReader narration remains paused until manually resumed.
NPC Interaction Voice Lines
- Added support for NPC interaction voice lines as their own priority level.
- Includes:
- NPC greeting lines
- NPC farewell lines
- regular NPC click responses
- repeated Poke / Irritated voice lines
- Repeated clicks on the same NPC are now detected as well.
- NPC interaction lines temporarily take priority over speech bubbles and LoreReader narration.
- Native voiced story dialogue continues to have higher priority than NPC interaction responses.
NPC Speech Bubble TTS
- Added automatic TTS support for supported NPC speech bubbles.
- Supports:
- NPC Say
- NPC Yell
- NPC Whisper
- NPC Emotes
- Boss Emotes
- Boss Whispers
- Speech Bubble TTS automatically pauses LoreReader narration.
- Added duplicate protection when the same NPC line is already being played as native voice-over.
- Added a short detection delay before speech bubble TTS starts, allowing native voice-over to take priority first.
- Improved repeated dialogue handling so the same NPC line can still be narrated again when it appears later.
- Fixed speech bubbles sometimes no longer being narrated after repeated Dungeon runs.
Priority Transition Delay
- Renamed “Delay after voiced NPC dialogue” to “Delay between priority levels”.
- The configured delay now applies whenever LoreReader transitions from a higher to a lower speech priority.
-
This also applies to:
NPC Speech Bubble TTS → LoreReader narration
- Prevents different speech systems from transitioning into each other with no audible pause.
- Consecutive speech from the same priority level is not artificially delayed.
Speech Focus
- Added the new unified Speech Focus system.
- Music, Sound Effects and Ambience can automatically be reduced while spoken content is active.
- Speech Focus supports:
- LoreReader narration
- Adventure Guide Read All
- NPC Speech Bubble TTS
- NPC Interaction Voice Lines
- native voiced dialogue
- Previous separate narration-volume and audio-ducking systems have been merged into one setting.
- Original game audio levels are restored after speech ends.
- Manually pausing LoreReader narration now immediately restores normal game audio.
- If another active speech priority still requires Speech Focus, the reduced audio level remains active until that speech finishes.
- Manual Music, Sound Effects or Ambience adjustments made while Speech Focus is active are preserved.
TTS & Dialogue Volume
- Added an option to link TTS volume to the game's Dialogue volume.
- When linked, LoreReader TTS follows the same volume level as native dialogue.
- When linked:
- TTS and Dialogue remain unaffected by Speech Focus
- Music, Sound Effects and Ambience are reduced instead
- When not linked:
- LoreReader TTS retains its independent volume
- the same Speech Focus slider controls how strongly other sounds are reduced
- LoreReader TTS is now automatically unavailable when either:
- Sound is disabled
- Sound Effects are disabled
- Active LoreReader TTS is stopped or paused appropriately when those sound settings are disabled.
MiniPlayer Improvements
- Improved the Borderless / Soft Fade MiniPlayer style.
- Removed visible background seams when transparency is used.
- Borderless / Soft Fade is now the default appearance for new installations.
- Existing MiniPlayer appearance settings remain unchanged.
- Added an option to control whether MiniPlayer transparency also affects:
- artwork
- 3D models
- Improved MiniPlayer behavior while narration is paused or temporarily interrupted by higher-priority speech.
Boss Model Controls
- Improved the existing Adventure Guide and MiniPlayer boss model controls.
- Improved mouse wheel zoom behavior.
- Adjusted model movement sensitivity.
- Corrected vertical movement and rotation direction.
- Fixed the Y-axis direction for vertical model rotation.
- Vertical rotation now uses Blizzard's native OrbitCamera pitch handling.
- Fixed repeated Lua errors caused by the model camera receiving an invalid
nilpitch value. - Improved compatibility with Blizzard's current ModelScene camera implementation.
Minimap Button
- Added a dedicated LoreReader Minimap button.
- Left Click opens the LoreReader settings.
- Right Click toggles Blizzard message TTS.
- The button can be freely moved around the Minimap.
- Its position is saved between sessions.
- Added an option to hide the Minimap button.
Interface & Settings
- Reworked the LoreReader settings panel using a more modern Blizzard-style layout.
- Reorganized TTS, audio, narration and MiniPlayer options.
- Added clearer explanations for Speech Focus and TTS/Dialogue volume linking.

- Fixed audio levels sometimes remaining reduced after Adventure Guide narration ended.
