What's new

Version 5.9.0

Every boss page has been read line by line and checked against the game's own data. All 19 raids, boss by boss and row by row. Around 70 corrections across 55 bosses.

The mechanics are also now verified against real retail raids. 69 combat logs covering 88 encounters and 71 bosses confirm that 516 of the listed abilities are things these bosses genuinely still do in retail today.

Adds now have their own pages

Where a fight's adds matter they get their own section, with a portrait and their own abilities, the way a modern encounter page reads.

Molten Core: Lucifron's Flamewaker Protectors and Gehennas' Flamewakers. Garr's section is named after him rather than after his adds. Magmadar's Core Hounds removed, since they are trash on the approach. Blackwing Lair: Razorgore plus the Blackwing Legionnaires, Blackwing Mages and Death Talon Dragonspawn from the egg phase. Naxxramas: Faerlina's Worshippers and Followers, Maexxna's Spiderlings, Gothik's living and dead waves with a section for Gothik himself, and Kel'Thuzad's four portal waves. Karazhan: all six of Moroes' dinner guests, Shade of Aran's Conjured Elementals, and all eight chess pieces nested under their king. Tempest Keep: Solarian's Solarium Priests. Icecrown Citadel: Lady Deathwhisper with her Cult Adherents and Cult Fanatics, Valithria's Suppressers and Risen Archmages, and the rocket crew on the enemy gunship.

Mechanics that were never real, now removed

Abilities that were on the wrong creature or in the wrong phase

C'Thun's two phases had their contents partly swapped. Halion's Dark Breath and Dusk Shroud were listed under the physical realm instead of the Twilight realm. Kel'Thuzad was shown casting during a phase where he is untargetable. Onyxia's deep breath was under the ground phase. Conflagration was credited to Lady Sacrolash when Alythess casts it. The jormungar submerge phase was filed under Gormok, who is not in it. Sulfuron was credited with a spell his Flamewaker Priests cast.

Mechanics that were missing

Princess Huhuran's real kit: Frenzy, Poison Bolt, Noxious Poison and Wyvern Sting. The Lich King's Frostmourne room, which was not on the page at all. Rotface's Big Ooze. Vek'lor's physical immunity and Vek'nilash's magic immunity. Moroes' Blind, Gruul's Reverberation, Maulgar's Mighty Blow, Malchezaar's Amplify Damage, Ouro's Quake, Viscidus' Toxin, C'Thun's Mind Flay and Loatheb's Inevitable Doom.

Ossirian's five Crystal of Power weaknesses are now listed individually.

Text that read as broken

Around thirty entries described something the page already carried, most visibly Netherspite's three beams, which were written once by colour and again as the three Nether Portals, with the red beam credited with the green one's effect. Several descriptions had lost words or punctuation when damage figures were stripped.

Version 5.8.1

Multi-creature fights now name every combatant, each with its own portrait and abilities. Ten bosses gained a section named after themselves so the page answers who does what.

Boss lore was being cut off with an ellipsis on most bosses. Once you had viewed a boss with a short paragraph, every longer one after it was clipped for the rest of the session.

Valithria Dreamwalker's Twisted Nightmares and the Lich King's Harvest Souls were both missing on Heroic, so those readers saw nothing where the mechanic should be.

Servant's Quarters in Karazhan is now covered. Nightbane has been removed, as there is no Nightbane encounter in the retail journal for it to attach to.

Version 5.8.0

Nine bosses were listed in the addon but could never appear in the journal, because the name they were filed under is not the name the game uses. Every boss has now been checked against the game's own encounter table.

Silithid Royalty was completely blank. The Opera Hall was three separate entries, two of which never appeared. Sartharion's drakes were listed as bosses of their own and never rendered. Fathom-Lord Karathress now lists his advisors properly, each with their own section and abilities.
