Description
Kyrakka Winds of Change
Erkhart Stormvein keeps turning the wind on the last boss of Ruby Life Pools, and it never blows from the same corner twice in a row. The first one comes in from the entrance to the southeast, then it moves round counterclockwise to the northeast, the northwest and the southwest, and round again for the whole fight. Lose count once and you're the one who gets blown into Kyrakka's fire.
This addon keeps count for you. From the pull to the end of the fight a green arrow sits on your screen with "Next wind" under it, and it points the way the next wind will push you. When the wind comes, the arrow turns to the one after. Stand so the push doesn't throw you anywhere bad and you're done.
How it works
Addons can't see the boss's spells in a fight anymore, so the arrow runs on timers from the pull. I measured them from a pile of logged kills. The winds come at the same times in almost every pull, and from the fifth one on they land every 25.5 seconds like clockwork. The arrow turns a moment after each wind lands, never before, so it can't send you the wrong way early.
The arrow is the minimap's compass ring. It's the one thing in an instance that still turns with you, so the addon borrows it for the fight, trims it down to its north chevron, paints it green and turns that to the wind's direction. Spin around as much as you like, it keeps pointing the same way in the world. Only one addon can borrow the compass ring at a time, so don't run two of these at once.
If Erkhart dies first there are no more winds, and the arrow goes away with him.
Drag the arrow wherever you want it. It remembers the spot.
Commands
/winds test shows the arrow pointing north so you can drag it into place and check it against your world map. /winds test again hides it. /winds size 140 makes it bigger or smaller, and /winds reset puts it back over the middle of your screen.
