KickBars Changelog

0.12-beta - mob identification that holds up in a dungeon (2026-09-13)

  • Dungeon priority: mob identification in dungeons works again on patch 12.1. It now keys on the three nameplate traits the client still shows - level, power type and classification - so the memory of which mob wears which fingerprint fills in as you run instead of staying empty.
  • Dungeon priority: a mob is named only when all of its evidence agrees, and learned identities are corrected at the end of every pull against the mobs the pull actually held. A nameplate profile that two mob types share is no longer guessed from the more common one; such a mob is identified from its own casts instead. Learned cast timings and assigned spell sounds therefore no longer land on the wrong mob type. Learned mob identities start over once after this update.
  • Dungeon priority: identification no longer goes blind for the minutes after a reload or a dungeon entry. The cast times it matches against are remembered once learned, so your own haste changing between sessions cannot skew them, and a reload mid-key no longer teaches the wrong mob.
  • Dungeon priority: The Blinding Vale's channelled casts are now known for Sporeblight Belcher, Thorny Saptor, Kezkitt, Lekshi, Ikuzz, Overgrown Hydra and Lightwarden Ruia, so a channel from those mobs narrows to the right mob instead of a neighbour.
  • Incoming cast: the warning before a mob's first cast is now timed from the moment the mob itself enters combat rather than from when it first turns on you, so it lines up with the real cast on pulls the tank opens. Learned first-cast timings start over once after this update.
  • General: alerts now wait for each other instead of playing on top of one another, and a cast that would end before its turn stays silent. The gap between alerts, and the switch, are under Alert spacing.
  • Nameplates: one font setting for the creature-type text and the countdown numbers on the kick and CC icons, found on both icon pages. An earlier countdown font pick carries over.
