Instance Difficulty Tracker

A lightweight instance information display for groups and raids

Overview

Instance Difficulty Tracker shows your current instance info at a glance — raid difficulty, dungeon difficulty, loot spec, group composition with role counts, and your raid group number. Only visible when you're in a group. Fully configurable.

✦ Display Lines

Five independently togglable lines, each with smart visibility rules:

• Loot Spec — Your current loot specialization, updates live when changed — any group
• Raid Difficulty — Colored by tier: Normal, Heroic, Mythic, LFR, Timewalking — raid only
• Dungeon Difficulty — Same color coding: Normal, Heroic, Mythic Keystone, Timewalking — 5-man party only
• Group Comp — Live Tank/Healer/DPS counts with optional Blizzard role icons — any group
• Group Number — Your raid subgroup assignment — raid only

✦ Smart Visibility

• Auto Hide — Automatically hides when solo, only appears in parties and raids
• Context Aware — Raid-only lines hide in 5-man groups, dungeon-only lines hide in raids
• Settings Preview — Live preview of all enabled lines appears whenever the IDT settings page is open

✦ Appearance

• Font Options — Font face, size, and outline (None / Outline / Thick Outline) via LibSharedMedia
• Text Alignment — Left, Center, or Right horizontal alignment
• Line Spacing — Adjustable vertical spacing between lines (0–20px)
• Font Shadow — Toggle with configurable X/Y offset for readability
• Text Opacity — Global opacity slider for all display text
• Difficulty Colors — Independent color pickers for General, Normal, Heroic, Mythic, LFR, and Timewalking
• Role Icons — Blizzard native atlas icons that scale to match your font size

✦ Line Order

• Custom Order — Rearrange all five display lines in any order via Up/Down buttons
• Reset — One-click reset to default order

✦ Position

• Drag to Reposition — Unlock via settings or /idt unlock
• Persistent Position — Saved across reloads and sessions
• Precise Placement — X/Y offset sliders in settings
• Reset Position — One-click reset to default

✦ Profiles

• AceDB Profiles — Per-character, per-spec, or shared profile support

• Classic Era, BCC, Wrath, Cataclysm Classic (TOC multi-version)
• Plays nicely with other Ace3 addons (Details, WeakAuras, etc.) — deferred initialization prevents load-order conflicts

This addon was inspired by Funki's Instance Difficulty Tracker WeakAura which provided the visual design and functional reference for this project.
