Inspektøren

Inspektøren is a lightweight inspection and gear analysis addon for World of Warcraft Retail.

It combines a clean character inspection interface with an integrated gear analysis module called GearSim, designed to help you compare equipped items, identify upgrades in your bags, and evaluate gear combinations without pretending that weighted stats are the same thing as a full SimulationCraft run.

GearSim

GearSim uses weighted stat scoring to compare items against your currently equipped gear.

It can evaluate:

• Primary stats
• Secondary stats
• Weapon DPS
• Active specialization
• Weapon restrictions
• Armor type
• Tier set breakpoints
• Ring combinations
• Trinket combinations
• Weapon setups

GearSim is intended as a fast in-game comparison tool.

Weighted stat score is not simulated DPS.

Items with proc or on-use effects, especially trinkets, may not be valued accurately without external SimulationCraft data. Inspektøren clearly marks these cases instead of assigning a misleading DPS value.

Upgrade Indicators

Compatible gear in your bags can receive an upgrade arrow based on the estimated improvement:

• Under 1%: white
• 1–5%: green
• 5–10%: blue
• 10–15%: purple
• Above 15%: orange

The same upgrade information is also shown in the item tooltip.

Midnight Men På Norsk

Midnight Men På Norsk is also optional.

When Midnight Men På Norsk is loaded, Inspektøren uses its Norwegian item-stat terminology such as:

Smidighet, Utholdenhet, Hurtighet, Mestring and Allsidighet.

Without Midnight Men På Norsk, item stats remain in English, while the Inspektøren interface itself remains Norwegian.

Performance

Inspektøren is designed to avoid unnecessary background work.

Recent versions include:

• incremental bag scanning
• coalesced refresh timers
• reduced full UI refreshes
• cached upgrade calculations
• event-driven equipment updates
• built-in performance profiling tools

The Feilsøking tab can be used to profile expensive operations directly inside the addon.

Development Status

Inspektøren is under active development.

The GearSim module is intended to become progressively more accurate while remaining transparent about what can and cannot be calculated reliably inside the WoW addon environment.
