Targeting a beast for the first time adds it to your journal. Cast Beast Lore on it to reveal its abilities.

By default, beasts and abilities stay hidden until you find them yourself. Rare beasts are marked in blue, even before you find them.

Abilities stay hidden until your pet knows them or you study a beast that teaches them. Known abilities show your current rank.

Prefer the original spellbook? Switch to the classic look in the settings. Everything works the same, just styled like the old 1.x spellbook.

Pick a rank to see what it does, the pet level it needs, and which beasts teach it. Teachers you have not found yet stay hidden.

A beast you have seen but not studied yet. Its abilities stay hidden until you cast Beast Lore on it.

A map in the journal shows where a beast spawns. Each pin is a spawn area, and the number is how many spawn points it has.
