Post auctions without touching the mouse.
With the Auction House open, hover a bag item and tap Space — the item drops into the sell slot. Tap Space again while still hovering it, and it posts.
That is the whole addon. No extra windows, no setup, nothing to configure before it works.
How it behaves
| Situation | Pressing Space |
|---|---|
| Hovering a bag item | Loads it into the sell slot |
| Pressing again on the same item | Posts it |
| Moved onto a different item | Swaps that item in instead |
| Cursor not over an item | Jumps — the addon stays out of the way |
| Blizzard's post warning is up | Accepts it |
It stays out of your way
- Space still jumps. The key is only taken over while you are actually hovering an auctionable bag item with the Auction House open.
- Combat turns it off completely. The moment you enter combat the addon releases the key and stops working until the fight ends.
- Typing is safe. While a search or price box has focus, Space types a space.
- Non-auctionable items are ignored — soulbound gear, quest items, and empty slots never trigger it.
Price guard
Posting is held back until the Auction House returns the current market price, for up to 1.5 seconds. Without this, tapping Space twice quickly could post an item at the vendor-price-based default — which for a valuable item means handing it away. Turn it off with /ha guard off if you would rather post instantly.
Settings
/ha show current settings
/ha on | /ha off enable or disable
/ha key SPACE change the key (e.g. /ha key E)
/ha qty one | all quantity mode
/ha guard off drop the price-lookup guard
/ha qty all presses Blizzard's own "Max" button for you, so it costs one extra press: load, max, post. Items whose quantity box never appears skip that step.
Built taint-free
Addons that drive the Auction House UI directly can leave a nasty side effect behind: after using the Auction House, right-clicking an item in your bags silently fails with a blocked-action error, until you reload. That happens because the addon's writes taint the Auction House UI state, and the bag's right-click path reads that state before calling a protected function.
HoverAuction never writes to the Auction House UI. It only reads from it, and declares what should be clicked through a secure action button so that Blizzard's own code performs the click. Key binding is handled by a secure handler snippet, which is also why combat can release the key instantly.
Compatibility
- World of Warcraft Retail — Midnight (Interface
120105/120100) - Works with the default bags; bag addons that expose standard bag/slot information are supported too
- No dependencies, no libraries
