v1.6.7
What's new
Holiday Herald
v1.6.7
Improvements
- HandyNotes: Seeking the Soulstones is now listed in NerdyBertie's Addon Workshop.
- Clicking the holiday boss line now opens the Dungeon Finder with the holiday dungeon already picked, so all that's left is clicking Find Group.
v1.6.6
New
- The popup now shows again on the day a holiday starts, not just when it first appears a week ahead. If you're playing when a holiday begins, it pops up then (after combat). Can be turned off with "Popup when a holiday starts" in the settings.
v1.6.5
New
- Daily quests line: holidays with dailies now show a checklist of today's quests (like "2 of 10"), grouped by where you do them. It resets with the daily reset. Hallow's End has it first: the city quests, saving a village from the Shade of the Horseman's fires, the Hag of the Crooked Tree in Val'sharah, and the garrison quests for Spooky Supplies.
- Pilgrim's Bounty: the five cooking dailies are on the Daily quests line, with what each one wants.
- Feast of Winter Veil: the Greench quests and the four garrison quests for Merry Supplies are on the Daily quests line.
- WoW's Anniversary: a full card, built from last year's event (achievements, world boss mounts, the Loyal Watchman set and Eternal Tier 2 ensembles, dailies, and where every world boss is). It'll be updated once this year's details are announced.
- Hallow's End: a new tip explaining how the Shade of the Horseman fires work.
- The holiday boss tooltip wishes you luck on any mount you're still missing.
- New "Daily reset" line under the holiday cards, showing when dailies reset (in server time, your time, or both, following the Start and end times setting). Can be turned off in the settings.
- Drake armor manuscripts (like the Windborne Velocidrake: Hallow's End Armor) and ensembles are now checked off once you've learned them, instead of always showing as still to get.
- Hallow's End: the Prowler's Faded Headgear ensemble now shows its price (150 Tricky Treats) and which vendors sell it.
Fixes
- Tooltips no longer show "Item 226453" style placeholders when the game hasn't loaded an item's name yet. They fill in the names a moment later.
v1.6.4
Improvements
- A holiday's Achievements line now counts everything in that holiday's achievement list, read straight from the game. New ones Blizzard adds (like this year's neighborhood candy achievements) show up on their own, no update needed.
- Long lists only show what you still need on hover, with a count of what's already done.
Fixes
- Clicking a holiday's Achievements line no longer jumps to Feats of Strength. If the only ones left are feats (like Hallow's End's), it opens the holiday's own achievement list instead. Shift-click still links the next one you need.
v1.6.3
New
- New "Start and end times" option: show holiday times in server time (like the in-game calendar), your own computer's time, or server time with yours after it. Handy when your realm is in a different time zone than you.
Improvements
- The presets menu is now labeled "Alerts and sounds," and each choice says what it does right in its name, like "Visuals only (no sounds)."
Fixes
- Updated for patch 12.1.5, so the game no longer marks it out of date.
v1.6.2
Improvements
- New Great Gnomeregan Run secret about stacking Holo-Gnomes.
- The login chat line now separates what's on now (with its end time) from what's coming up, so it no longer reads like everything starts in a few days.
Fixes
- The Gnomatic Projector only shows on Gnome and Mechagnome characters, since only they get it from the race.
v1.6.1
Improvements
- The Great Gnomeregan Run: tracks the new Gnomatic Projector toy, mentions the Runner of the Gnomes speed buff, and has more exact coordinates for Mina Gleespanner.
v1.6.0
New
- Lunar Festival is now a full card: the To Honor One's Elders meta, the Lunar Launcher mount, 13 toys, both lantern pets, festive transmog and flower crowns, Zidormi locations for hidden Elders, how to summon Omen, and three secrets.
- Call of the Scarab (January 21 to 23) now has a micro-holiday card: how to help your faction in Silithus, the temporary Qiraji mounts, and two secrets.
Improvements
- Chat messages are dressed up too: each holiday's name appears in its own colors, and the "Holiday Herald:" prefix wears the colors of the next holiday coming up (or the next micro-holiday, when no big holiday is close). With nothing coming up at all, it wears your faction's colors: blue for the Alliance, red for the Horde.
- "Also on sale" is now "Also look for", since some of those items drop instead of being sold.
- Holidays can now have more than one shopping line. Winter Veil gets a second one with the Small Eggs and Holiday Spices to bake the Gingerbread Cookies yourself, ready to Ctrl-click into ItemWatch.
Fixes
- Holiday boss lines no longer say "used today" and "done" before the holiday has even started. Until it opens, they say "Opens when the holiday starts."
v1.5.1
Fixes
- Holidays now disappear from the popup as soon as they end (usually in the morning), instead of staying up for the rest of that day. If the popup is open when one starts or ends, it refreshes itself.
Improvements
- Holidays always show their exact end time, like "ends Oct 10 at 11:59 PM", or "ends today at 7:00 AM" when it's close.
- Holidays starting today or tomorrow show their exact start time too, like "Starts today at 10:00 AM", instead of saying "Now" before they've begun.
v1.5.0
New
- Moonkin Festival (November 12) now has a micro-holiday card: how to earn all five Moonkin Hatchlings, with coordinates, plus two secrets.
- Wanderer's Festival (early December) now has a micro-holiday card: ceremony times, the achievement, the turtle pet, and two secrets.
- New Year's Fireworks (December 31) now has a micro-holiday card: show times, ways to make the fireworks pop, party favors, and two secrets.
Improvements
- Pilgrim's Bounty: Now We're Cookin' and Pilgrim's Progress now count the right version for your faction.
- Pilgrim's Bounty tip: leveling Classic Cooking from 1 to 300, the Spice Bread recipe, where to find Wild Turkeys, and every feast table location.
- Two new Pilgrim's Bounty secrets.
- The Great Gnomeregan Run's title now fades from gnome pink to tinker teal, like the other holidays.
v1.4.0
New
- Feast of Winter Veil is now a full card: the Merrymaker meta, 31 toys, 10 pets, a mount, holiday transmog and hats, a shopping list for Greatfather Winter's treats, the hunter reindeer, and seven secrets.
Improvements
- The popup now shows the version number next to its title.
- Hallow's End: all nine Horseman's Ghoulish pieces and the whole Patched Harvest Golem set are now tracked individually, plus Kickin' With the Wick and The Lick King.
- Hallow's End tip: Wickerman buffs, the Shade of the Horseman event, and better hard mode details.
- Two new Hallow's End secrets, and more detail for the Coin of Many Faces and witch hat secrets.
- Day of the Dead: the Bouquet of Orange Marigolds and Whimsical Skull Mask are now tracked, the tip lists each race's home graveyard with coordinates, and there's a new Demon Hunter secret.
v1.3.0
New
- Achievement toasts: a tea-sipping herald pops up with a little cheer whenever you earn any achievement. Turn it off under Celebrations in the settings.
- Trading Post reminder under Weekly Events, with your Trader's Tender. Hover for where to find it, or click to open the Traveler's Log.
Improvements
- Toasts now wait their turn, so several achievements at once don't overlap.
- Trading Post hover lists all four locations, including Silvermoon and Dornogal.
- Tooltips with map coordinates now mention TomTom's /way command.
v1.2.0
New
- Darkmoon Faire is now a full card: 31 achievements, 4 mounts, 19 toys, 22 pets, and 14 transmog pieces, each checked against your collection.
- Mounts now get their own count line on holiday cards.
- Three new Darkmoon Faire secrets.
Improvements
- Darkmoon Faire tip: the WHEE! XP and reputation buff, the Darkmoon Top Hat, the Dance Dance Darkmoon toy, and the Blight Boar concert.
- With three or more holiday cards, the popup switches to two side-by-side columns, so it doesn't get so tall.
- The popup can't be dragged off screen anymore, and there's a new "Reset" button for its position in the settings (or type /herald resetpos).
Fixes
- The Addon Workshop list in Options now always shows, no matter which NerdyBertie addon's settings you opened first.
- Card borders no longer disappear on some sides at certain UI scales.
v1.1.1
Improvements
- The "Hover any line for details" hint now sits at the top of the popup, next to the Holidays heading.
v1.1.0
New
- New holidays: Day of the Dead, Pilgrim's Bounty, WoW's Anniversary, and The Great Gnomeregan Run.
- Every other holiday now has a themed card, with full details coming before each one arrives.
- ItemWatch support: Ctrl-click a shopping line to add the whole list to ItemWatch, on top of any goals you already have.
- Shopping lists only show what your professions need, like the Darkmoon Faire profession quests.
- Micro-holidays can have their own cards.
- The NerdyBertie page in Options > AddOns is now NerdyBertie's Addon Workshop, with a mascot and a list of my other addons (the ones you have installed are marked).
Improvements
- Tidier cards: sections for Still to get, How to, and Secrets, with finished categories folded into one "Done" line.
- New color palette, with gradient and striped titles and separate border colors.
- Click any achievement line to open it, or shift-click to link it in chat.
- Proper square icons on every holiday card.
- Pirates' Day: The Captain's Booty, Ol' Eary's Insult Book, new transmog, and a new secret.
Fixes
- Secret teasers now start with a capital letter.
- Shift-clicking a shopping line no longer starts over from the first item after the popup refreshes.
- Micro-holidays no longer show the "(short!)" tag.
v1.0.1
Improvements
- Timewalking events now show which expansion they're from.
- Hover any weekly event to see its calendar description.
- Presets are now a dropdown that shows which one is active (or "Custom").
- Presets no longer hide the minimap button.
- Hallow's End: the witch hat secret now tells you where to find the quest.
v1.0.0
- First release! Themed holiday cards, collection tracking, holiday boss info, meta achievement links, tips, secrets, class lines, short-holiday alerts, celebration toasts, weekly events, and a settings panel.
