Hearthcade-0.1.7-beta.zip
What's new
Hearthcade — changes since 0.1.0, through 0.1.7 Beta
Features and improvements
- Modern interface across all 22 games: coordinated navy-and-gold panels, improved spacing, clearer play areas, and separate scores, status messages, and instructions.
- Consistent title bar: shared Hearthcade branding and generated New Game, Invite Friends, How to Play, Exit Game, and fullscreen controls. Every game now has a graphical title.
- Dedicated console pages: Library, Friends, and Settings open as full pages. Friends includes pagination, while Settings provides clearer descriptions and a dedicated Controls section.
- Generated button artwork: fixed lettering and symbols are baked into the graphics. Changing names, scores, and counts appear separately.
- Scrabble redesign: larger coordinate-labeled board, player score panels, live word preview, aligned tile destinations, and an organized rack and action area.
- Sudoku redesign: parchment board, cyan selection, highlighted row-and-column cross, readable pencil notes, selected-cell coordinates, and matching keypad and difficulty controls.
- Yahtzee redesign: larger felt tray, five gold-bordered holding slots, flat ivory dice, clearer score previews, a centered turn banner, and the round indicator above the scorecard.
- Card and tile game improvements: reorganized hands, draw piles, set-building areas, bidding controls, and rack pagination.
- Puzzle and arcade improvements: refreshed challenge selectors, collection screens, faction selection, pause controls, and DOOMguard’s HUD.
- Party and Catan improvements: clearer card presentation, player actions, resource panels, and score layouts across Standard and all nine Seafarers scenarios.
Bug fixes
- Fixed Cribbage’s three-digit scores overlapping or wrapping.
- Enlarged the crib outline so its label fits inside.
- Centered Cribbage’s primary action within the play area.
- Fixed missing artwork on Cribbage Jacks, Queens, and Kings.
- Fixed Sudoku hover highlights leaving a persistent trail.
- Fixed errors when viewing another player’s Yahtzee scorecard and prevented scoring against that card.
- Fixed Yahtzee holding feedback: clicked dice immediately enter their slots and can be released by clicking again.
- Improved dice hit areas and blocked interaction during rolls or another player’s turn.
- Corrected dice landing presentation and removed the unwanted teal highlight around held dice.
- Prevented Invite Friends from triggering an older leave-match action.
- Corrected set-building drag targets that could shift after placing a card.
- Guarded layouts against running before game controls finish initializing.
All 22 games, existing saves, artwork, and multiplayer rules remain included. Lua 5.1 and mocked behavior checks passed; actual WoW Forever rendering was not tested.
