Hear Kitty plays soothing and distinct orchestral sounds as you gain and spend your combat resources. It's like having your own theme music! You'll hear tones as you gain combo points or stacks of your buffs, and when you hear the final note played, you'll know it's time for a finishing move. Never watch for little red dots or buff stacks again!
These classes and specs work with Hear Kitty:
- Druids (in cat form): combo points (including in Classic)
- Rogues: combo points (including in Classic)
- Elemental and Enhancement shamans: maelstrom
- Paladins: holy power
- Shadow priests: insanity
- Warlocks: soul shards
- Monks: chi
- Arcane mages: arcane charges
- Frost mages with Glacial Spike: icicles
- Vehicles with combo points (such as the drakes in Eye of Eternity)

First of all, love the addon! These cues do so much more for me that any visual ever could.
Is there any way you could add Warrior's Whirlwind charges to this? Using Whirlwind is already like a waltz, you use it, get two single-target abilities to go multi, and repeat. Unfortunately I have trouble keeping the tempo up because sometimes you do not use those two charges directly after Whirlwind or even one right after another. Feel like Hear Kitty could fill that specific niche.
In reply to RoboTermite:
Hi! Sure, I could at least give it a try. I haven't tried warrior since Legion, so I'd need some help from you to come up with something that makes sense. Would it be something like this?
(Hear Kitty watches for the number of stacks of some whirlwind-related buff to change)
Whirlwind buff stacks: 2 -> I just used whirlwind, so play tone 1
Whirlwind buff stacks: 1 -> I just used one of my powered-up attacks, so play tone 2
Whirlwind buff stacks: 0 -> I just used my second powered-up attack OR the buff expired, so play the drums
Is that what you're looking for? Is this interaction only for a specific spec or talent?
Am I doing something wrong? It doesn't seem that this add-on works with Maelstrom Weapon at the moment. I'm so happy to see it still being updated since this add-on really completed my experience during WoD and now that I'm dusting off my Enhance Shaman I'd love to have this working along side... But it seems the music doesn't play whenever I get a stack. Any idea when we might get an update on that? Or am I doing something wrong?
In reply to AnUpsetZombie:
Hi! I removed the Maelstrom Weapon support a while back because that went away and was replaced with a Maelstrom resource, which Hear Kitty does support. But in 9.0 they removed Maelstrom and put Maelstrom Weapon stacks back, so I still need to put that stuff back in to Hear Kitty.
Due to CurseForge switching ownership there will be a bit of downtime in a week or so, and before then I'm avoiding releasing unnecessary updates so I don't accidentally break stuff without a way for people to go back to working versions. So it might be a couple of weeks before I can release a regular update for Hear Kitty—but if I get something working sooner, I'll share details on Facebook and people can update manually if they choose. Sorry for the bad news!
In reply to TravisSpomer:
Hey thanks for the quick reply, totally understandable! Huge fan of what you've done here with this add-on.
In reply to AnUpsetZombie:
(BTW, in case anyone is reading this, Hear Kitty 1.9.2 was released last weekend and includes support for Maelstrom Weapon stacks again.)
Thank you very much for Hear Kitty - I've been using it for years and it's been such a wonderful asset.
I hate to ask you to do more, but would you consider adding support for Enhancement's Maelstrom Weapon, even though it's a buff instead of a power? I tried replicating HK's function with WeakAuras, but couldn't make the bottoming-out sound work the way I wanted it to.
Hello! First of all, thank you for this addon, I had used it a lot in the past but stopped playing combo point classes. I have a question/sanity check request. Didn't this addon used to play a tone when you were maxed but you used a point generator anyway? Like if I had 5 combo points and kept spamming my generator, I thought it would keep playing the 5-point tone, which was a nice reminder I was wasting my generator. Has this been changed, or am I just remembering incorrectly?
In reply to eightflat:
Hi! I'm afraid that you're remembering incorrectly. (That's always been something that I wanted to provide, but there has never been a straightforward way to accomplish that with what the game provides.) I could definitely get a lot of value out of such a feature myself though. 🙂
In reply to TravisSpomer:
Aha, amazing how convinced I was. Thanks for the reply, cheers!
In reply to eightflat:
Mandela effect, maybe? I still remember a 90s movie called Shazaam starring Sinbad that never existed.
Hi Travis,
Just downloaded this addon for my feral druid. Big fan of the sounds but I was wondering if there is any way to turn off the sound cue for respawning? I'd prefer to not have it on.
Thank you very much
In reply to Forge_User_69622004:
Hi! Thanks for the comments. Respawning as in being revived by a Spirit Healer? Are you playing on BfA or Classic? Hear Kitty plays sounds when the game tells it that your combo points have changed, and sometimes that happens at weird times—this is probably one of those times. But I can look into it and see what I can do!
In reply to TravisSpomer:
Hey thanks for the super quick reply!
I play classic wow and it's just been happening with regular spawning. Just tested with spirit healer and it doesn't make the noise.
In reply to Forge_User_69622004:
Okay, just when reviving at your corpse? Is it the "bum-bum-BUM"/finisher sound that you're hearing when you revive?
In reply to TravisSpomer:
Yea thats the one
In reply to Forge_User_69622004:
Okay, thanks for the info! My guess is that the game is that reviving at your corpse causes your combo points on your previous target to be reset to zero. Maybe the best solution would be to just make it so that Hear Kitty stays silent whenever you're not in combat—I've been thinking that would be better in a variety of situations anyway. (It'd be especially nice in BfA for ret pallies and monks, whose combo-point-like resources decay pretty quickly when not fighting, so you hear drums play at strange times in those specs too.) I filed a bug on myself to add that option and added your notes. Thanks again!

Hi—it looks like one of your other addons is doing something that it shouldn't and it's interfering with Hear Kitty. It should be easy to work around though; I'll release an update today that should hopefully be able to detect that problem and deal with it. Give Hear Kitty 1.9.1 a try.
In reply to TravisSpomer:
No error on startup now, thanks!
