Description
HeadWay
Every group has one. The boss dies, everyone else is already halfway to the next pack, and they're still standing in the boss room spinning the camera, looking for the door they walked in through ten minutes ago.
I made this for a friend of mine who is exactly that person. After each boss, an arrow pops up over your character for 5 seconds and points the way to the next boss, and you follow it. Nobody has to type "which way is north" in Discord ever again.
It knows all eight Mythic+ dungeons of Midnight Season 2, which are Altar of Fangs, Den of Nalorakk, Murder Row, The Blinding Vale, Voidscar Arena, Kings' Rest, Temple of Sethraliss and Ruby Life Pools. After the last boss you're on your own, but by then the chest is right there.
How it works
Addons can't tell which way you face inside an instance anymore. The minimap's compass ring still turns with you, so HeadWay borrows it for 5 seconds, trims it down to its little north chevron and turns that to where you need to go. Spin around as much as you like, the arrow keeps pointing the same way in the world. Your friend will find this especially useful.
Got a square minimap? It goes round for those 5 seconds and comes back square after. Only one addon can borrow the compass ring at a time, so don't run two of these at once.
In The Blinding Vale you can kill Lightblossom Trinity and Ikuzz the Light Hunter in either order, and the arrow knows which one you did first. It remembers that through a reload too, in case someone's game crashed from embarrassment.
Commands
/headway test shows the arrow pointing north, so you can check it against your world map. /headway size 140 makes it bigger (for the really lost ones) and /headway seconds 5 changes how long it stays.
