What's new

Changelog

1.1.0

  • How-To popup. A new button beneath the Battle.net friends sidebar opens a movable, closable guide covering what War Games are, how to send a challenge, how responding works, and a few quick tips.
  • Assorted map-keyword and Random Arena/Battleground fixes so challenges no longer fail silently on maps with an apostrophe in the name or on the random entry.

1.0.0 - Initial Launch

Hated Games puts Blizzard's real War Game system one click away. Challenge a target, respond to an incoming challenge, and browse every Arena, Battleground, Epic Battleground, and Battleground Blitz available to fight in — all from a real tab built directly into the game's own PvP window, right next to Dungeons & Raids, Player vs. Player, and Mythic+ Dungeons. No separate popup cluttering your screen, no digging through menus.

Every action goes straight through Blizzard's own War Game API — the same system behind the /wargame slash command and the "Request War Game" player-menu option. If your group wants a faster way to set up a private Arena, Battleground, or Solo Shuffle match against another premade, this is it.

What's in this release

  • Lives inside the real PvP window. Hated Games shows up as its own tab alongside Blizzard's own Dungeons & Raids / Player vs. Player / Mythic+ Dungeons tabs, styled to match.
  • Browse by category. Arenas, Battlegrounds, Epic Battlegrounds, and Battleground Blitz each get their own list, built from the same real button and row templates Blizzard's own PvP UI uses.
  • Arena bracket picker. Choose 2v2, 3v3, 5v5, or Solo Shuffle right from the Arena category.
  • Target-based challenging. Target the enemy group leader, hit Add Target, pick a match type, and send the challenge.
  • Battle.net friends sidebar. A live list of your online Battle.net friends playing WoW sits right next to the hub — right-click one to fill in a challenge or whisper them.
  • Precondition checks. Confirms you're leading your own group, your target leads a different group, and the group sizes actually match the match type — before sending, not after it silently fails.
  • Real accept/decline popup. An incoming challenge shows up as a genuine Blizzard-style confirmation dialog.
  • Always current. The match-type list is read live from the game client every time you open the tab, so it never goes stale when Blizzard adds, removes, or rotates a map.
  • Nothing extra running in the background. No result tracking, no leaderboard, no addon-channel network traffic — just the challenge/response calls themselves.

How to use it

  1. Target the leader of the group you want to fight (or skip this and use the Battle.net friends sidebar instead).
  2. Open the Hated Games tab (click the tab, or use /hg) and click Add Target to fill in the Opponent field, or right-click a friend in the sidebar to fill it in instead.
  3. Pick a category on the left: Arenas, Battlegrounds, Epic Battlegrounds, or Battleground Blitz. For Arenas, pick a bracket too — 2v2, 3v3, 5v5, or Shuffle.
  4. Click a specific match from the list on the right — the subtitle shows exactly how many players it needs, both sides.
  5. Hit Challenge. If something's blocking it, the status line tells you exactly what to fix.

Commands

  • /hg — toggle the hub tab open or closed
  • /hg config — open the settings panel
