14.5.2
What's new
14.5.2
- Updated for World of Warcraft 12.1.5.
14.5.1
- Shows under Hated Gaming in the AddOns list.
14.5.0 - How-to guide
- New step by step guide with 12 short pages: reading the timers, shards, what happens when a crate drops, playing in a group, the Shard log, docking the window, zones and the raid lead tools
- Open it with the new book button on the side rail, right under the Shard log, with /rct guide, or from Options > About
- Most steps have a Show me button. It opens the right window and points an arrow at the button or setting the step is talking about
- Fixed the addon's memory climbing while the Shard log window is open. The log is also only built the first time you open it, so the addon uses less memory from login, and guild shares are much lighter to receive in big guilds
- Raid assists no longer get a Sync button on the tracker. It never did anything for them, since only the leader's timers are sent. They see Share like everyone else
14.4.0 - Honor and Conquest per hour
- New line under the shard chip: the honor and conquest an hour brings at the pace you have been earning them, worked out from your last hour of play
- Hover it for this session's totals and length. Right-click it to start over
- It stays visible when the timers are minimized, and you can switch it off under Options > Timers > Honor and Conquest
14.3.0 - Addon check
- New raid leader tool: Addon check. Its button sits on the side rail right above the heart, and opening it checks your group
- It lists everyone in the group: who has Hated Crate Tracker and on which version, who is out of date, who has it switched off and who does not have it
- Players on an older version still show up as having the addon. Their exact version shows once they update
- New option for non-English game clients: Alerts > Announce in English. Raid warnings and the other lines the addon sends to your group go out in English, zone names included
- Crate alerts on your screen now name the zone in your own game language, whatever language the caller plays in
- Fixed the shard ID share line putting the zone name where the map ID belongs
- Group sync now matches player names more reliably. This fixes timers and alerts not syncing in a party on realms with an apostrophe or hyphen in the name
14.2.2
- Code clean up. Nothing changes in how the tracker looks or works
14.2.1
- Fixed a game crash some players hit on the Zones and Timers pages of the options. The windows now draw their rounded corners and switches far more lightly, so every Hated window opens faster
- Smaller download: art and images nothing used are no longer included
14.2.0 - New options window
One options window
- The old grey options panels are gone. Settings now open in one window in the tracker's own style, with pages down the side: General, Window, Alerts, Timers, Zones, Sharing, Profiles and About
- Open it with the gear on the tracker, /rct options, or the Hated Crate Tracker entry under Interface › AddOns. Esc closes it, and it reopens on the page you left
- Search finds any setting on any page, and it works right there in the results. The arrow jumps to it on its page
- Dropdowns open a list you can filter by typing, and "Contested at" now sits right under the setting it belongs to
Zones
- Each zone gets its own card with its color, map ID and expansion, its Track, Warn and Announce switches, and its respawn time
- Adding, removing and retiming zones stays locked until you unlock it at the top of the page, and it locks again when you close the window
Sharing and profiles
- Generate export string now selects the string for you, so Ctrl+C is all that's left, and Import is a real button
- Profiles are on their own page: switch, create, copy, reset or delete. Reset and delete ask for a second click
About
- New heart button at the bottom of the side rail opens the About page
- The About page lists the other 15 Hated Gaming addons: what each one does, whether it runs on Retail, WoW Forever or both, an Installed tag if you already have it, and a link to its CurseForge page
- Buy Me a Coffee and Discord links are at the top, with their logos
Fixes
- The alert position's Reset button now resets only the alert position. It used to reset your whole profile
- Clock size shows the size the timers actually use
Removed
- "Allowed Missed Crate Timers", which no longer did anything
14.1.0 - Hated Crate Tracker 3.0
New look
- The tracker and every Rdy's Dev Tools window have been redrawn in the Hated style: dark iron frame, gold trim, your faction's crest in the corner, and crisp vector art that stays sharp at any UI scale
- The header shows your role, the zone you're in and how many zones you're tracking, with options, collapse and close buttons
- The shard number is now a chip: green when it's confirmed for the zone you're in, amber while it's carried over from somewhere else. Click it to share your shard with the group
- Timer rows are cards with the zone's color down the side and a fill that grows toward the drop. The last 15 seconds get warning stripes, missed cycles show as a small "3 missed" tag, the zone you're standing in gets a pin, and its shard turns amber if the timer is for a different shard than yours. Hover a row to get a delete button
- The crate landing ETA strip shows the crate's progress as three steps (flying, parachute, landed)
- New side rail next to the tracker: Shard log for everyone, then the raid lead tools, XJump and ground markers, which stay locked unless you lead the group
- Docking has a new red pull tab and tucks the whole window away cleanly, rail and all. Docked to the right edge, the rail and its windows switch to the left side, and every window opens away from the edge you're docked to
New: Owned, Contested or Lost
- While a crate is falling or on the ground and you're near it, the tracker counts every enemy player it sees there
- When the crate is done, that zone's row shows how it went: Owned when your side took it, Contested when your side took it after a fight, Lost when the other side took it. Hover the tag for the enemy count
- Results are shared with your raid or party, so the whole group sees the tag even if they weren't there
- Set how many enemies it takes to count as a fight with "Contested at" in the options, or turn it off
Shard log
- New window in the same style, opening from the side rail
- Show all zones or pick one from the list, and search by shard number
- Each shard shows where its timing came from (Seen twice, Seen before or Tracker default), when it last dropped, the next drop and how many drops were missed
- Put a shard on the tracker or delete it straight from its row. Share to guild and Clear all are at the bottom, and Clear all asks first
Raid lead tools
- The raid leader drawer is now a panel beside the tracker: call the next crate zone, build and send a rotation, sync to the raid, or clear and sync (which asks first). Your saved rotation carries over
- XJump has the new look, and Disband and Disband & Reinvite both ask before they go
- The ground marker bar has the new look
Fixes
- Fixed the crate alert sound going off over and over for the same crate. It now plays once per crate, however many people in the raid report it
- Fixed the shard never turning green after changing zones when the carried-over number was already the right one
14.0.8
- New login announcement: Hated Gaming addons are now on WoW Forever, featuring Contested, our new world PvP addon. It shows once more for everyone after updating, and ticking Don't show again dismisses it
14.0.7
- Code Clean Up
14.0.6
- Fixed HGLog's per-shard timers sometimes drifting a few minutes off from the main tracker's countdown for the same crate -- HGLog could log a slightly different timestamp than what the tracker itself actually kept for that drop, so the two windows ended up disagreeing on the same crate
14.0.5
- Code clean up
14.0.4
- Fixed the shard-changed warning giving wrong information right after zoning in or while standing still: it could compare a shard reading carried over from a different zone against the one you're actually in, instead of waiting for a real reading here
- Mouseover and nameplate shard detection can now correct a stale shard check on their own instead of only a crate drop or a fresh zone visit being able to do it
- The shard number on the tracker now shows green when it's confirmed for your current zone and dim amber when it's a carried-over or unconfirmed guess (hover it for a tooltip explanation)
- Fixed mouseover/nameplate shard detection near a zone border sometimes picking up a target that's actually standing in the next zone over
14.0.3
- The manual crate announces -- left-clicking the ETA strip and left-clicking a tracker row -- work for raid assistants again, not just the leader, and both go out as a raid warning
- Fixed the "Predicted Drop Location" line repeating in raid chat while the plane circled its drop point, and still firing after the crate had already dropped -- it now sends once per incoming crate and stops as soon as the crate is on its parachute
14.0.2
- Fixed the addon getting stuck on "disabled" with no way back: once it was turned off, /rct toggle (the command that turns it back on) was itself blocked. Also retired a hidden legacy "Disable in PvP" setting that could leave a profile permanently unable to track anything
- The vignette scan now skips delves, dungeons and raids entirely instead of only skipping rated PvP -- there are no War Supply Crates in instanced content, and scanning there could throw a Lua error on the current patch
- Predicted and dropped crate-location announces are now sent once by the group leader instead of a separate copy from every assistant running the addon
14.0.1
- Fixed a "secret string value" Lua error that spammed in populated zones -- nameplate shard checks on the current patch now fail quietly instead of erroring, and mouseover / vignette shard detection is unaffected
- Fixed the current zone's tracker row briefly disappearing while flying in from an adjacent sanctuary city (Silvermoon into Eversong Woods) -- it came back on landing, now it does not drop out at all
14.0.0
New: Crate landing ETA
- A small readout under the tracker showing how long until the current zone's crate is on the ground. While the plane is still inbound it shows both parts ("Flying to drop in ~1:10", then "On the ground in ~2:00"); once the crate is under its parachute it shows just the time left; "On the ground" once it lands
- It learns each zone and each drop spot from the crates you see there -- it shows "Learning" until it has timed a few, then switches to real numbers. Drop times vary a lot by zone, some descents run well over two minutes, so early estimates are rough and tighten up with use
- Party or raid leaders can left-click the strip to announce the ETA to the group
- On by default -- turn it off with "Crate landing ETA" in the options
New: Drop-point sharing
- New "Data Sharing" section in the options: export your learned crate drop points as a text string to hand to another player, or paste one in from them
- Importing only adds points you don't already have. It never changes or removes the ones you learned yourself, and duplicates are ignored
Predicted drop location
- Better at working out which spot an inbound crate is heading for, using the zone's learned launch point rather than just the current heading
Timer bar
- Fixed the fill being scaled to a fixed 900 seconds instead of the zone's real respawn interval -- the bar now tracks the countdown accurately for the whole cycle instead of sitting empty for the first few minutes
Removed
- Removed the battleground queue-dodger reporting (the snitch) entirely
Under the hood
- Large internal reorganization of the addon's code and its sync layer -- no behaviour change is intended, please report anything that regressed
13.0.13
- The docked window's pull-tab arrow now throbs and throws a sonar ripple so it is easy to spot -- turn it off with "Pulse the dock arrow" under Window docking
- Added a "Dock arrow color" picker under Window docking -- default is the same yellow as before
13.0.12
- HGLog "Add" now replaces the tracker's existing timer for that zone instead of doing nothing -- when the shard changes you can swap to the new shard's timer without deleting the old one first
- A high missed-crate count no longer hides a timer from the tracker -- a freshly added HGLog entry shows up like any other, and the missed count is still shown on the row
- Added a shard search box to the HGLog window -- filter the multi-shard log by shard number
13.0.11
- Throttled predicted drop-location announces -- minor jitter in the guess no longer spams the raid repeatedly while a crate is still falling
13.0.10
- Crate drop/predicted-location announces now show the zone name instead of raw coordinates -- easier to sift through when several crates are dropping at once
13.0.9
- Fixed the Ground Marker toolbar (RdysDevTools) placing the wrong shape -- world markers use a different internal order than raid target icons, now corrected
13.0.8
- Added a clickable map-pin link to crate drop/predicted-location announces -- click it to set the waypoint yourself
- Reworked shard verification: tells you once per zone-visit whether you're on the tracked shard, and stays quiet unless it actually changes -- no more repeat warnings while farming, and no more false alarms from briefly stepping into a city like Silvermoon
- Added /hct as an alias for /rct
13.0.7
- Refreshed the login welcome popup with a new message and a movable, draggable window
13.0.6
- Fixed a rare "action blocked" error resizing the tracker window during combat (seen in Delves)
13.0.5
- Added optional TomTom Integration (off by default). It mirrors crate waypoints into TomTom for its own on-screen arrow, alongside the default minimap waypoint
13.0.4
- Added a Ground Marker toolbar to RdysDevTools (raid leaders: quick access to all 8 ground/world raid markers)
13.0.3
- Updated HGLog for migrating users
Hated Crate Tracker 2.0
The biggest rework in HatedCrateTracker's history, rebuilt from the ground up. Real Blizzard-style panel, self-learning drop prediction, and full localization.
What's New
A window that finally looks like it belongs
- Real Blizzard-style panel (portrait, border, the works) instead of a plain box
- Docks to any screen edge, slides in/out with one click
- Deterministic per-zone colors: the same zone is always the same color, every session
- Cleaner, properly-sized toolbar buttons
Smarter tracking
- HGLog integration: if you're the party/raid leader, the tracker now surfaces previous crate drops HGLog has logged for your current zone/shard that aren't already on your list. One click imports it straight into your tracker, so you get a timer even if you didn't personally catch it live
- Crates found already on the ground or already looted are now tracked too, not just ones caught mid-drop, with a "Tracked As" indicator showing how precise each timer actually is
- Self-learning drop-location prediction: the addon watches flight paths and works out where crates are landing on its own, zone by zone, no manual data entry required
- Expanded zone support, including Coiled Isle
Everyone else
- Full localization pass: German, French, Russian, and both Spanish locales brought up to full parity with English
- Fixed Cyrillic text rendering as boxes for players on Russian clients
Heads up
Old and new versions can't sync/alert with each other, so get your whole raid/guild on 2.0 together. Upgrading your own install is seamless; your settings and data carry over fine either way.
