Hardcore Nameplate Designer 5.0.0_Hotfix
Hotfix Changelog
Fixed — Cold-login nameplate ownership
Fixed an issue where friendly and non-attackable NPC nameplates could remain in Blizzard's default presentation after a full client login, while /reload appeared to correct them.
Root cause: the original startup discovery pass could run before Blizzard had exposed any visible nameplates, leaving already-present plates outside HND ownership.
Replaced the early startup-only discovery with a bounded world-entry bootstrap anchored to PLAYER_ENTERING_WORLD / LOADING_SCREEN_DISABLED.
Newly enumerable plates are claimed immediately through HND's existing activation and render path.
The bootstrap uses a short 50 ms discovery interval, stops after the visible plate set is stable for 0.75 seconds, and has an 8-second hard timeout.
No permanent scanner or background polling loop was added.
Verified in-client on a cold login: all visible test plates were active under HND ownership with Blizzard stock presentation suppressed.
Fixed — Designer control labels disappearing
Fixed missing text on interactive Designer controls, including navigation tabs, menu controls, Undo/Redo, dropdown values, grid controls, density controls, and related buttons.
Interactive control labels now use Blizzard's known-good UI font path for reliability.
Barlow remains available for the intended static Designer headings and chrome.
No Designer layout, profile, preset, or runtime nameplate behavior was removed as part of this fix.
Release integrity
Removed temporary cold-login tracing and diagnostic-window code from the hotfix release line.
Preserved the 5.0.0 feature set and UI overhaul.
Preserved user presets and existing saved configuration behavior.
SavedVariables schema remains 29; no persisted-data migration is required.
