Hammerlog 58
What's new
Changelog
58
- Who runs which version: the Gear tab says which Hammerlog each guildmate runs, and a line under the items sums up the guild's ("Hammerlog in use: 58 (4), 57 or older (2), not heard from (9)"). Versions show from 58 on; older ones say "57 or older".

- Housekeeping: tidier code, no change in how anything works.

HS on item tooltips: hover any item you could wear to see your Hammer score now and with it on ("HS 412 to 431 (+19)"), green when it's better, red when it's worse, upgrade or not. Hammerlog reads the item you're looking at from the game itself, so items missing from its list and random "of the ..." versions are scored as they really are. Items you wear say what they add to your HS and from which stats, also in the "Equipped" box beside a compared item. Your HS is now the same number on your name and on items.
New stat weights for every class and talent tab, from fresh research into WoW Forever's changes: haste and expertise now count, healers value spirit, crit and haste, casters lean on spell power over intellect, and wands count for less at the level cap. Everyone's HS moves with them, so compare numbers from this version on.
Goals: pick what you're gearing for on the Upgrades page: Levelling, 5-man, Raid, PvP or Balanced. Each has its own stat weights (wands and stamina count more while levelling, hit more in raids, stamina much more in PvP). Left alone, it's Levelling until the level cap and Balanced at it. Your HS, the upgrades and the tooltip lines all follow your pick.
Feral druids: Cat or Bear. Feral is scored as a cat; click Bear on the Upgrades page to score your gear as a bear tank.
Your group's loot counts too: when someone in your party or raid loots an item, Hammerlog notes where it dropped (never who got it). In a dungeon, a bind-on-pickup item looted right after a boss dies is credited to that boss. Your guild's item pages and the Upgrades sources fill in faster.
Gear stays current: while you're online, your gear goes out to the guild again every half hour even if nothing changed, so guildmates don't see it as hours old.
Fix: no more error about "secret" values when entering a dungeon or fighting a boss there.
Watch list: click the square by any item on the Prices tab, type the price you want to be told at, press Enter: done. Click it again to change the price or stop watching. The count column is now Qty.
Upgrades: a slot where nothing seen in game beats what you wear says BiS; very large gains read "+>999%".
Reports: click a fight to see that fight alone; tick its box (or shift-click it) to add more fights or take one out. Clearer wording in the window and chat.
Fixes: feral druids' "Attack Power in Cat, Bear and Dire Bear forms" counts for feral druids only, and bonuses that only work in some areas (snowy, mountainous...) or on your pet don't count toward an upgrade; an auction read with only bids no longer forgets the known buyout; recipes you no longer know stop being marked; the Prices page no longer re-reads your gear each time it redraws; a damaged shared report can't break the Reports list.
Item stats through the guild: when the game shows an item differently from Hammerlog's list (say, a staff's healing), your officers' add-ons now pass it on to l2p.lol too, so every player who saw it counts toward the fix without uploading anything.
My fights: Hammerlog now keeps every fight the game's own damage meter counts, when combat ends: damage, healing, damage taken, deaths with what led up to them, by ability and by target, even when nobody in your group logs combat. The game forgets them; Hammerlog doesn't. Open the Reports tab and pick My fights.
Fresh prices at launch: when the site starts auction prices afresh (the live game's new economy), the Prices page and Upgrades leave out older auction sightings, yours and the guild's, once you have the new item list.

- Item stats from the game: when what the game shows for an item (say, a staff's healing, or a weapon's damage) differs from Hammerlog's item list, Hammerlog notes it, and l2p.lol uses the game's numbers once you send the addon's file - for everyone's item list after that.
- Upgrades for a guildmate (officers): For (top of the Upgrades page) lists everyone in your guild Hammerlog has gear for; pick one to see their best upgrades, scored for their class, talents and gear.
- Inspecting someone no longer records items the game hadn't loaded yet as empty slots.
- Reports lists the runs you were in; See all (next to Runs) shows every report your guild shared.
- Upgrades: crafted gear. Items a profession makes now show where they come from ("Crafted: Blacksmithing 215 (Plans: Mithril Coif)"), there's a Crafted button on the From filter, and Hammerlog marks the ones you can make (a recipe you know) or can learn (your profession is high enough). Open your profession window once so Hammerlog sees which recipes you know.
- Fight reports: Compare two players side by side - abilities, targets, over time and buffs - and see buff uptime per player and a Debuffs tab (what was kept on the boss, how long, how many stacks). Reports shared before this version have no uptimes.
- Prices, laid out like the auction house: categories down the left, a search box and a Filter button (quality, level, seen within, usable by me, upgrades for me), columns that sort, item icons. Items that would be an upgrade for you say by how much.
- Watch list: mark an item on the Prices tab and set a price; Hammerlog tells you when one is seen at or under it.
- Upgrades: a From filter - dungeons, world drops, quests, vendors or the auction house.
- Gear: a Readiness view - who's missing enchants, has empty slots or items under an item level you set; sort by HS or item level, by class or overall.
- Upgrades scores what you wear with the game's own numbers, so an item the server has changed since Hammerlog's item list was built (a hotfix) isn't undervalued, and the page no longer suggests swapping it for something worse. Spell power is counted once.
- Fight reports in more detail: click a player for their abilities, then an ability for its hits, crits, average and biggest hit, casts, and the attacks that missed, were dodged, parried, blocked or resisted (for healing, overhealing; for damage taken, what was absorbed and avoided). A player's Targets view shows whom they damaged or healed (who hit them, for damage taken), and Over time their damage or healing through one boss pull. Reports shared before this version have no targets or timelines.
- The window opens on the tab you last looked at, per character.
/hlog reportsopens on Reports. - Snapshots: each player inspected (group, mouseover,
/hlog scan on) leaves a snapshot of their gear and talents, shared with officers at a few dozen an hour at most, for the talent pages on l2p.lol. No names. Your own gear entry carries your full talents. - The scan all button and
/hlog ahare gone for now: Hammerlog records the prices your auction house searches show. /hlogis shorter: the sharing counters and the officers' how-to moved to/hlog reports status./hlog gearsays how many snapshots it holds.- Fixed: on the Prices tab, items flickered between their name and "item N".
- Fixed: items with an empty enchant field could be read as enchanted.
- Fixed: a bad report or gear entry passed on in the guild could break the reports window or the Gear page for everyone who got it; such entries are now refused.
- Fixed: "empty slot" on item tooltips and the Prices page when the slot held something that simply scores nothing for you (armor-only gear for a caster); it now says by how many points.
- Fixed: the Prices watch list and the Upgrades page missed cheaper or new auction sightings shared by the guild.
- Fixed: in a fight report, the share of attacks that didn't land counted every tick of a damage over time spell as an attack, so a resisted Corruption looked rarer than it was. Each cast counts once now (reports shared before this version still count ticks).
First release on CurseForge (22)
Hammerlog's first release here. It has been in use by its guild through 22 versions; this is the first one published for everyone.
- Upgrades (
/hlog upgrades): better gear for every slot at your level and talents, with where each item drops, quest rewards, vendors and auction house prices. Works for any player, no setup. - Item tooltips say when an item would be an upgrade for you.
- Prices (
/hlog prices): search every auction house price Hammerlog has seen, by item name. A scan all button under the auction house window records every price at once. - Gear: your guildmates' latest gear, item level and talents, shared in game; player tooltips show item level and HS (Hammer score), a rough guide to how good someone's gear is for their class and talents.
- Fight reports: if your officers upload combat logs to l2p.lol, the reports arrive in game: damage, healing, damage taken and deaths for every fight, by player and ability.
- Records what drops from what, quest rewards, vendors and XP, which is where the upgrade sources come from.
