Description

GuildHQ is a guild management addon built first for Guild Masters and officers, and it’s expanding soon to give every guild member a lot more to use. Like a lot of things, it started out of frustration with existing addons that were missing features or just awkward to use. GuildHQ is easy to use, straightforward, and has a solid core of features to build on.

Coming next are features the whole guild can use to stay involved and keep in touch with each other, because that’s what WoW was built on, and it’s something the game has drifted away from.

Open it with /ghq or the minimap button.

Home

A quick catch-up on what happened since you last logged in: who joined, who left, who got promoted, plus any birthdays or guild anniversaries coming up.

Roster

Your whole guild in one list, with search, an All / Online / Offline toggle, and offline members dimmed so the active folks stand out.

  • Mark mains and alts, and see each member’s alts at a glance
  • Join dates, birthdays and your own notes for every member
  • Select several members at once and edit them together
  • Raider.IO columns if you have Raider.IO installed
  • Item level and spec get picked up when the game already has them (for example after someone else’s tooltip inspect). GuildHQ never inspects anyone itself.

Officer tools

  • Rank history for every member, so you can see how long someone’s been at their current rank
  • Probation reminders when a new member is due for review
  • A promote / demote / kick queue, so decisions made in officer chat don’t get forgotten

Guild Health Analytics

This is the part I find myself checking the most.

  • Charts for members, joins, leaves, who’s online and who’s active, over the last week, month, year or a custom range
  • Every chart compares against the period before, or the same dates last year, so you can actually tell if the guild is growing or shrinking
  • Busiest days and times, so you know when to schedule things
  • Who left recently, with their join date and last rank
  • A Makeup view that breaks the guild down by class, race, spec, role, rank, main vs. alt and leve

Recruitment

Find players with /who searches, then reach out one click at a time.

  • Send a friendly whisper, a guild invite, or both
  • Sensible pacing built in: a short wait between contacts, a daily limit you can set, and a reminder to take a break
  • Replies show up in their own list, with an Invite button for anyone who says yes
  • A never-contact list for people who aren’t interested
  • Post your guild ad in Trade or other channels, with a cooldown so you don’t spam
  • See how many Guild Finder applications are waiting
  • Your recruiting whispers stay out of your chat window so it doesn’t fill up

GreetingGoblin

Meet Vinny, the goblin who welcomes everyone who joins your guild. When someone new arrives, he posts a random welcome in guild chat a few seconds later.

  • Build your own greetings out of first parts and last parts that get mixed and matched, or lock certain pairs together
  • Name puns: if someone’s name has “moo” or “dead” in it, there’s a good chance they get a pun about it
  • Race and class puns, with a chance you set yourself (bonus puns for the funs)
  • A join log of everyone welcomed and what Vinny said to them
  • If several people in your guild run GuildHQ, only one welcome goes out per new member. No more five copies of “welcome!” in a row.

Messages

For the GM and co-GM:

  • Keep a library of Messages of the Day and set one with a click
  • Save guild and officer chat messages you post often
  • Whisper online members

Little extras

  • Welcome-back messages for members who return after 30 or 60 days away
  • A Discord auto-reply that whispers your invite link when someone asks about it in guild chat
  • An optional login whisper asking members whether they’re on a main or an alt. Their answers wait for you to review; nothing changes on its own.

Settings and access

  • The GM chooses which ranks can open GuildHQ, and which count as co-GM
  • Pick your highlight color: your guild’s tabard color, GuildHQ purple, or anything you like
  • Export and Import for backups, or to move your notes between Retail and WoW Forever. It can also read join dates from GRM notes and GuildPilot backups.

A few promises

  • GuildHQ never inspects players or gathers data in the background
  • It never writes to your in-game public or officer notes
  • Every recruiting whisper and invite needs your click
  • It waits out boss fights, Mythic+ and PvP before posting anything

Runs on Retail (Midnight) and WoW Forever.

Wow player since first week of vanilla. Creating addons to meet my needs and releasing where it seems appropriate. Not trying to change the world with addons or take things to seriously, so keep that in mind.
