GuildScout-0.4.1.zip
What's new
Highlights
- Primary spec detection: Inspect now reads the inspected character's talent trees and updates their primary spec automatically. Right-clicking a Recruitment row opens the player, inspects them, and runs the same detection workflow.
- Minimap control: Added a draggable Guild Scout minimap button with support for round and square minimaps. Left-click opens Guild Scout; right-click starts or stops scanning.
- Clear scan controls: Added a visible scan toggle in the workspace header with green/red running state. Automatic scanning at login is now off by default.
- Inspection history: Recruitment rows now show whether a player has ever been inspected.
Recruiter interface
- Refined the Selected Recruiter window into a tighter Classic inspect-style layout.
- Added larger, correctly cropped class and race portraits.
- Improved identity, level, GearScore, presence, last-seen, update-count, equipment, notes, and footer alignment.
- Added the missing shortcut for reopening Recruitment from the selected-player window.
- Removed the separate Detect Spec button now that Inspect performs both equipment capture and spec detection.
- Fixed detected specs being found internally but not appearing in the Recruitment table or open recruiter window.
Recruitment and settings
- Improved Recruitment table sizing and spacing for lower resolutions and UI-scale configurations.
- Added clearer left-click and right-click workflow guidance.
- Added a Usage window covering scanning, recruiter actions, data management, and diagnostics.
- Simplified Settings, clarified the login scanning option, and retained selective purge and factory reset controls.
- Diagnostics remains available in development builds and through
/guildscout debug; the stable workspace no longer shows the Diagnostics panel.
Reliability
- Removed unreliable Friendly Name Plates CVar detection and automatic warning logic.
- Added startup regression suites for development UI, stable UI, and the real
ADDON_LOADEDbootstrap path. - Added coverage for workspace navigation, minimap and scan controls, slash commands, and detected-spec synchronization.
- Updated package validation and release documentation.
Important
Guild Scout requires Friendly Name Plates to be enabled in WoW for nearby-player discovery. The addon documents this prerequisite but does not read or change the setting.
Existing Guild Scout SavedVariables remain compatible with this release.
