What's new

Ready for the WoW: Forever release: realmless rulesets, two-part names,
guilds founded on launch day and guilds of up to 1,000 members.

- Names: the release client is recognized by its project as well as by its
Interface number. A realm name with spaces or hyphens and a name given
without a realm count as the same character, so sign-ups, final rosters
and Discord answers match whichever form the game uses. "Ann Abel" and
"Anna Bel" are two members, each with their own rank. A main typed as
"First-Surname" keeps its surname; an alt sharing its main's first name
  keeps its main.
- Guild data: raid plans are never erased by a passing "not in guild"
reading, an unreadable rank or an alt leaving the guild. A renamed guild
keeps its raids, plans, permissions and bank copy. A renamed rank keeps
its Raid Planner rights. A rank table relayed by an officer can no longer
  replace the guild master's own.
- Big guilds and login waves: short messages are never dropped while many
long ones are arriving; long messages wait 10 minutes for their parts; an
officer's own edits go before catch-up copies; catch-up is capped and sends
teams, templates, the board and polls first; a member who never synced
gets everything current; a reload right after login is caught up. Logins
no longer make every member re-send profiles and calendar summaries, one
editor answers a planner greeting with only what is missing, and one
holder sends a guild bank copy. Roster lookups and the Members,
Professions and Guild Bank pages stay fast with 1,000 members.
- Calendar and raids: a renamed team keeps its members and raids; joining a
guild lists its raids without a burst of "new events" toasts; two
organizers saving in the same second end with one version; "Add a
player" reaches every member and has a search box; guild chat
  announcements and reminder whispers give the day and the UTC offset;
"I'll be away" lists your absences so you can cancel one; a raid that
ends no longer takes over the Calendar card or the planner; "Same event
next week" is offered only to those who may create the raid.
- Raid Planner and Live Raid: German, French, Spanish, Russian, Korean and
Chinese clients find the raid and the boss by ID and through the game's
Encounter Journal. Each plan keeps its own map floor; one player has one
position per phase; refused placements say why; positions of players no
  longer confirmed can be removed from Map elements; markers need a map;
heavily edited plans stay small. A drawing made right after a new phase
is no longer lost. Live is not re-sent at every pull; late messages no
longer undo a newer phase; the leader is told when a phase change waits
for the fight to end; raiders outside the guild get the raid copy from the
raid leader or an assistant; a "map + broadcast" rank can go Live.
- Group Finder: listings of players outside the guild go away 9 minutes after
  their owner falls silent; a listing survives joining or leaving a guild;
greetings are answered only where they were heard; strangers' listings
never push a guildmate's out; groups for dungeons the addon does not know
are shown under their game name; groups without vacancy data are not
hidden by "Needs my role". The page no longer freezes with many public
  listings.
- Guild bank: a vault read sends what fits and keeps the rest for later;
slow server answers no longer erase the gold log; tab names in Korean or
Chinese arrive whole. Poll bars show at full length.
- Window: dialogs and drop-downs no longer catch clicks on raid frames,
action bars or nameplates in combat. Another character of an account that
finished the setup is asked its role once; a guild invitation no longer
  cancels the first-run setup.
- Discord: "Sync now" types /reload in the chat box (an addon's own reload
is reported blocked on Forever); a player confirmed from the bench is
confirmed in Discord; a class that differs from the guild roster is
reported; importing a final roster keeps Main/Alt. The companion needs
Guild Nexus Discord 0.3.2 and a new setup on the release client.
- Not tried in the game client yet; raid instance and encounter IDs of The
Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit are added when the raids open.

- Raid Planner map: stack areas have a color. "+ Stack area" opens a small
dialog: what the area stands for (Raid, Tanks, Healers, DPS, Melee, Ranged or
a label of your own), circle or square, one of the five map colors and a
size; one click then places it. Areas show a faint shading in their color,
and their label counts the players placed inside them.
- A right-click on an area, note, line or arrow offers Change color and
Duplicate; the marker dialog has a color field too, and notes can have a
  color of their own.
- Map elements, a new button beside Stack area, lists every element of the
phase and opens the one you pick for editing.
- Undo also brings back the last element erased by hand, before it takes back
lines. Reset map stays as it is.
- Menus opened from controls near the bottom of the screen open upward.
- Areas saved by earlier versions stay green; older clients show colored
areas in green and receive every other change as before.

- Raid sign-ups: the role follows the specialization. A tank tree signs up as
Tank, a damage tree as DPS and a healing tree as Healer; the other roles are
greyed out in the sign-up dialog. Feral Combat and Enhancement can still come
as Tank or DPS, the only way a druid or a shaman tanks here. "Join as Tank"
from a menu now offers the tree that tanks. An organizer can still move a
player to any role; the specialization is then left open. Sign-ups made
  earlier keep what they show.

- Raid sign-ups ask whether the character is your Main or an Alt, and an alt
names its main. Sign-up lists, the final roster and tooltips show "Main" or
"Alt of <name>". Sign-ups from older versions count as mains, and players
on older versions still receive every sign-up.
- Sign-ups, roster selections, deleted and completed raids now reach players
who were offline when they were made, also when the player who made them is
offline in turn: clients compare what they hold for coming raids after login
and every ten minutes, and ask for what is missing.
- Two changes to the same sign-up or roster selection made in the same second
now end the same on every computer.
- Rank permissions and player profiles that a newcomer missed are sent again
  the same way.
- New alerts: a raid was posted, moved or cancelled, and you were confirmed,
put on the bench or left out of the final roster. A raid three to seven days
away that you have not answered appears in the notification list. Alerts wait
for the login catch-up instead of announcing old news.
- Group Finder: listings saved from an earlier session disappear a minute after
login unless their owner is still looking, and a listing whose owner went
offline is removed within minutes instead of staying for forty.
- Optional Discord synchronization (closed pilot): with the Guild Nexus bot and
a companion program run by one organizer, raids made in the game appear in
Discord, and sign-ups, Main/Alt, final rosters, edits and cancellations
travel both ways. Members prove a character to Discord with
/gn link <code>. Nothing changes for guilds that do not use it.

- Live Raid map: drawings, markers, areas and erasures now reach every raider
within one to three seconds. Raiders apply the raid's copy of an edit at once,
the guild's copy follows behind raid traffic, and edit messages are smaller,
so clearing a map takes seconds instead of half a minute. Raiders on older
versions still get every edit, a little later.
- Going live in a full raid no longer holds the first drawings back behind the
start message sent to each raider.
- New Send map button on the planner map, and /gn sendmap: sends the whole plan
to the guild and, during a live raid, to the raid, then reports when it has
  left.
- Raid Planner map tools: the eraser no longer moves what it should erase, Undo
skips lines that are already gone, a right-drag pan or a second press no
longer cuts or stretches an open line, the mouse wheel zooms over markers and
resizes areas only with Move, and losing map rights returns to Move.
- The Live Raid test run plays your own jobs from the current plan, up to three,
instead of sample cues when you have jobs there.
- Assignment alert options have a Reset position button.
- Plan delivery check: a specialization computed differently on a raider's
computer no longer shows "Different / older plan". Checks between this
version and older ones keep working.

- Greet characters without a guild by name at the top of the sidebar.
- Replace the Solid, Balanced and Light background buttons with one opacity
slider, and remove the row height and spacing fields that had no effect.
- Keep a guild's data when the game briefly reports that you are not in a
guild: leaving now counts only when it is read again ten seconds later.
- Keep rank permissions with their rank when the guild master adds, removes or
reorders ranks, and let officers pass the permission table on to newcomers
while the guild master is offline.
- Add a raid history setting in Settings > Profiles: raids, sign-ups, raid
nights and boss plans older than the chosen period (six months by default)
leave this computer at login, and logins no longer resend the boss plans of
  raids that are over.
