GuildLayerHelper
⚠️ NOVA WORLD BUFFS IS REQUIRED ⚠️
GuildLayerHelper requires Nova World Buffs to detect your current layer.
Nova World Buffs must be installed and enabled for GuildLayerHelper to work correctly.
Without Nova World Buffs, GuildLayerHelper cannot reliably determine whether you are on Layer 1, Layer 2, Layer 3, etc., and layer invitation notifications will not work correctly.
About GuildLayerHelper
GuildLayerHelper is a lightweight addon for World of Warcraft Classic designed to make guild layer switching easier.
When a guild member explicitly requests an invitation to a specific layer, GuildLayerHelper checks your current layer using Nova World Buffs.
If you are on the requested layer and are able to invite players, a compact popup appears with an Invite button.
Example
A guild member writes:
inv layer 4
If you are currently on Layer 4, GuildLayerHelper displays a notification allowing you to invite that player with one click.
Quick Layer Request
Instead of manually typing the message, GuildLayerHelper provides a simple command.
To request Layer 4:
/glh l4
GuildLayerHelper automatically sends:
inv layer 4
to guild chat.
The same works for other layers:
/glh l1 → inv layer 1
/glh l2 → inv layer 2
/glh l3 → inv layer 3
/glh l4 → inv layer 4

No Accidental Layer Notifications
Since v1.3.0, regular conversations about layers no longer trigger the addon.
Messages such as:
layer 4
I'm on layer 4
L4
will not display an invitation popup.
The explicit request:
inv layer 4
must be used.
This prevents unwanted notifications during normal guild conversations.
Smart Popup Protection
GuildLayerHelper will not display an invitation popup when:
- You are in combat
- You are not on the requested layer
- You cannot invite players to your current group
- You are in a raid without invite permissions
- You sent the request yourself
- The same player recently triggered a notification
If combat starts while a notification is displayed, the popup is automatically hidden.
⚠️ REQUIRED ADDON: NOVA WORLD BUFFS
Nova World Buffs is required.
GuildLayerHelper relies on the layer information detected by Nova World Buffs to determine your current layer.
For GuildLayerHelper to work correctly:
1. Install Nova World Buffs
2. Install GuildLayerHelper
3. Enable both addons
4. Log in or /reload
GuildLayerHelper does not include or redistribute Nova World Buffs code.
Commands
/glh — Display addon status and detected layer.
/glh lX — Request an invitation to Layer X.
Example: /glh l4
/glh test — Test the notification popup.
/glh layercheck — Display detailed layer detection information.
/glh debug on — Enable diagnostic messages.
/glh debug off — Disable diagnostic messages.
/glh sound on — Enable notification sounds.
/glh sound off — Disable notification sounds.
Compatibility
Designed for World of Warcraft Classic Era, Classic Hardcore, and compatible Classic environments using Blizzard's layering system.
