Grymr's MouseLook

Grymr's MouseLook is a tiny quality-of-life addon for World of Warcraft: Forever that combines the native Start Autorun action with mouselook.

Press your Start Autorun (NOT TOGGLE!) key and mouselook starts immediately: the cursor disappears and you can steer by moving the mouse and look around. Press the left or right mouse button once to leave mouselook and restore the cursor while autorun keeps running (chat, check stuff, chat, etc.). Press the Start Autorun key again whenever you want to return to mouselook without interrupting your run.

Setup

1. Open Options > Keybindings > Movement.

2. Bind the key you want to Start Autorun.

3. Press that key in the world to start autorun and mouselook will start with it together.

If Start Autorun is not visible in your client, you can bind it with:

/gml bind KEY

Example:

/gml bind BUTTON4

Use /gml status to display the current Start Autorun binding.

Behavior

• Start Autorun key: starts or keeps autorun active and enters mouselook.
• First left/right click while in addon mouselook: releases the cursor without stopping autorun.
• Further mouse clicks: behave normally.
• Start Autorun key again: re-enters mouselook while autorun continues.
• Movement keys: remain entirely under the normal World of Warcraft movement system and stop/override autorun according to the client.
• The first left/right click while mouselook is active is intentionally consumed to release the cursor.

Lightweight by design

Grymr's MouseLook has:

• no OnUpdate loop
• no polling
• no timers or tickers
• no recurring game events
• no bundled libraries
• no SavedVariables

It only runs when the relevant input/action occurs or when a /gml command is used.

Privacy

No telemetry, networking, tracking, advertising, or external code loading.

Compatibility

Version 1.0.0 targets World of Warcraft: Forever 1.60.1.

Commands:

• /gml bind KEY — bind the native Start Autorun action to a key outside combat.
• /gml status — show the current Start Autorun binding and addon status.
