Description
Grey Quests Matter
A grey (gray) quest isn't always a waste of time. Some low-level quests open a chain whose later steps are still green, yellow or orange for you, and skipping the grey first step locks you out of them. Grey Quests Matter tells you when a grey quest leads somewhere worth going.
For WoW: Forever.
What it does
- At the quest giver: when a grey quest on offer leads to follow-up quests that aren't grey for you, a note says so on the quest page and on the giver's quest list. Hover it to see the whole chain.
- On quest givers: their tooltip says whether their grey quests lead on.
- On the minimap: a small badge marks nearby givers whose grey quests lead on. If you keep low-level quest tracking switched off, those givers still get a "!", so you don't have to turn tracking on and wade through every grey quest to find the useful ones.
- Zone list: type
/gqm, or use the minimap's addon menu, to list the grey quests in your current zone that you can pick up and that lead on. Click one to set a waypoint (uses TomTom if you have it).
It only counts quests your race, class and level can actually take, and it skips quests you've already done.
Questie not required
Grey Quests Matter ships its own copy of the quest data it needs. If you do have Questie installed, it uses Questie's live database instead, which picks up Questie's latest corrections.
