Gnomatic

A casual-friendly one-button buff assistant. Made for convenience, not hardcore optimization

Gnomatic

Gnomatic is a small, casual-friendly buff assistant for World of Warcraft: Forever.

It was created for players who don't want to constantly think about which buff should be active, who needs it, or whether it has expired. Instead, Gnomatic provides a simple button — or keybind — and tries to choose the appropriate buff and target for you.

The goal is convenience, not perfect optimization.

If you are a hardcore player, min-maxer, competitive raider, or someone who wants complete control over every single buff, Gnomatic probably isn't the addon you're looking for. If you just want to press a button and get back to playing, it might be.

What does Gnomatic do?

Gnomatic automatically checks which supported buffs your character can provide and determines an appropriate buff and target.

Depending on your class, level, known spells, group composition, and currently active buffs, the addon tries to make a sensible choice for you.

Instead of putting several different buffs on your action bars, you can simply use the Gnomatic button or assign it to a key.

Features

  • Simple one-button buffing
  • Automatically selects an appropriate supported buff
  • Automatically selects a suitable target
  • Works for solo play, parties, and raids
  • Recognizes different ranks and variants of supported buffs
  • Avoids unnecessarily overwriting existing buffs where possible
  • Supports a dedicated keybind
  • Designed around the restrictions of the WoW: Forever addon API
  • Lightweight interface that can be moved or hidden
  • Intended primarily for casual and convenience-oriented gameplay

Important

Gnomatic is not intended to make optimal gameplay decisions for you.

It follows a predefined set of priorities and tries to provide a convenient default choice. There may be situations where an experienced player would deliberately choose a different buff or target.

That is perfectly fine.

Gnomatic is meant to reduce busywork, not replace player knowledge.

Since World of Warcraft: Forever is currently in beta, Blizzard may change spells, APIs, restrictions, or game mechanics at any time. Things can therefore break between beta builds.

Bug reports and feedback are welcome.

AI disclosure

I'll make no secret of it: Gnomatic was developed with extensive assistance from AI.

The concept and desired behavior were defined and tested by me, while AI was used extensively to help write, review, debug, and improve the code.

I'm disclosing this openly so everyone can decide for themselves whether they're comfortable using an AI-assisted addon.

The project artwork was also created with AI assistance and is decorative artwork only. It does not represent the actual in-game user interface.
