What's new

[0.13.4] - 2026-09-25

The style gallery is retired: there is now ONE card style, and it carries the GIDEON colours. Raid-lead decision after seeing both designs in the showcase: "keep option 1".

Changed

  • Layout.BUTTON_STYLES holds a single entry (Layout.SHIPPED_STYLE = "1"): the thin card of option 1 — a 1 px border (Interface\Buttons\WHITE8X8), a padding of 6 px and a discreet dark fill behind the picture — painted with the GIDEON constants that were already in Core/Layout.lua: gold GIDEON_GOLD (#D19A45) at rest, cyan GIDEON_CYAN (#7ADBFA) under the mouse, bright gold GIDEON_GOLD_HI (#FFE982) while pressed, GIDEON_PANEL (#0A0C22) as the background at alpha 0.92. The guild identity is a colour, never a thicker frame.
  • Layout.STYLE_ORDER is empty: no surface can offer a choice that no longer exists. Layout.CHOICE_STYLE is the delivered style, and every alias (1, shipped, bare, nu, encartnu) resolves to the one and same table.
  • /gr style with no argument now prints the style in use and the fact that there is no choice left; /gr style 1 (and shipped, bare, nu, encartnu) is accepted and persisted. Config.DEFAULT_STYLE is Layout.SHIPPED_STYLE, and Config.STYLE_NAMES stays the exact mirror of Layout.BUTTON_STYLES — one entry.
  • The style showcase (/gr sim style) keeps everything the raid lead uses: the three clickable compositions with their sound, the typography with its sizes, the palette with its hexadecimal codes, the three card states, the animations (/gr sim anim on|off) and the pinned SIMULATION banner. Its section 5 now shows one single example, the guild card, labelled as such and not as a number.
  • UI.ShowcaseSetPreview is gone with the gallery: clicking an example no longer swaps the preview style, because there is nothing to swap to.

Removed

  • The five remaining candidates of the validated board — 2 encart doré, 3 bouton Blizzard, 4 case d'action, 5 image nue + ombre, 6 double cadre — and the former card (thin grey border) and gideon (gold nine-slice) presets: deleted, data included. /gr style 2, /gr style gideon, /gr style card, /gr style 99 and an empty value are refused with a clear message and nothing is persisted.
  • Texture/gideon-frame.tga — removed from the .toc and from the package (the zip now ships 4 textures instead of 5) — and its generator tools/make_gideon_frame.py, which only served the nine-slice gideon style. The file can be regenerated if a thick nine-slice frame is ever asked for again.
  • Textures.gideonFramePath / Textures.gideonFrameSize, the ApplyInnerBorder path of UI/Panel.lua (the second frame of style 6), the locale keys style.2 … style.6, style.card, style.gideon and the showcase strings of the gallery (showcase.previewOnly, showcase.styleSelected).

Notes

  • A SavedVariables written by an older version is safe: a stored gideon, card, 2 … value falls back to the guild card, silently and without an error.
  • The GIDEON palette constants are untouched and stay the single source of the guild colours (Core/Layout.lua); the showcase still prints each one with its hex code so a value can be dictated without ambiguity.
  • The combat panel is unchanged: no title, the three picture cards, one word after the click (PING / CHASSEUR 44 px, BOSS 64 px), sound on the click only, bounded close, drag, cross, CORRECT, the OK button of the placement, target 3445.
  • A client restart is needed for the removed texture to disappear from the loaded files (a /reload is not enough).
