Description
GetGud Tracker
Press buttons. Find gaps. Get better.
GetGud Tracker is a lightweight combat-execution analysis addon for World of Warcraft Retail.
Instead of telling you what ability to press next, GetGud helps you understand how cleanly you are actually playing.
What it does
Live cast cadence
Your recent casts move across a real-time timeline using their actual timestamps. Hesitation creates visible space instead of being hidden by evenly-spaced spell icons.
Mechanical uptime & gap analysis
GetGud tracks execution uptime and identifies meaningful gaps between actionable inputs, with configurable sensitivity.
Pull reports
After combat, review:
- Mechanical uptime
- Active time and downtime
- Meaningful gap timestamps
- Longest and repeated gaps
- Pull-to-pull comparisons
- Short performance trends
- Notes and favorites
Grouped raid & dungeon reports
Combat is organized into collapsible runs instead of one giant flat pull history.
Examples:
Raid / LFR wing
- Trash
- Boss
- Trash
- Boss
Mythic+ dungeon
- Trash packs
- Boss encounters
- Full-run summary
Run summaries use duration-weighted uptime, including separate boss and trash uptime.
Mythic+ context
GetGud records available run context such as:
- Dungeon and keystone level
- Timer / time limit
- Timed or overtime state
- Death count and penalty
- Keystone upgrade level
- Score change when Blizzard provides it
Spell Library
Per-character and per-spec spell management with automatic categories:
- Combat / Rotation
- Cooldowns
- Items / Trinkets
- Utility / Other
- Secondary / Passive Events
Proc and tick noise can be hidden without manipulating uptime math.
Potions & group telemetry
GetGud records your own combat-potion and Lust/Drums usage.
When multiple party or raid members run GetGud, clients can cooperatively share only their own trustworthy potion and Lust/Drums markers. Reports always show telemetry coverage (for example 2/5 players) so missing information is never presented as proof that another player did not use something.
Philosophy
GetGud is an execution-analysis tool, not a rotation bot.
It aims to be:
- Lightweight
- Readable
- Useful across classes and roles
- Honest about what the WoW API can and cannot know
- Helpful without playing the game for you
Commands
/ggt — Open GetGud Tracker/ggt hide — Hide the live HUD while tracking continues/ggt show — Show the live HUD/ggt info — Open command/help information/ggt last — Show the latest pull summary
FEEDBACK IS ENCOURAGED AND APPRECIATED
Useful bug reports include:
- Class / spec
- Content type
- What happened
- What you expected
- Screenshot if possible
Especially useful feedback:
- Incorrect uptime or gap timestamps
- Pulls starting/stopping incorrectly
- Spell Library misclassification
- Incorrect dungeon/raid grouping
- Mythic+ timer/context errors
- Group telemetry attribution/coverage errors
- Lua errors, taint, CPU or memory problems
