GameSlayve Battle Lab
Combat Data. Real Insights.
GameSlayve Battle Lab is the shared combat-analysis engine for the GameSlayve addon family. It is designed to capture combat activity, separate encounters into individual pulls, build reliable finalized combat records, and provide those results to compatible GameSlayve addons.
Battle Lab was originally developed as part of GameSlayve Keystone Party (GSKP) and has now grown into its own standalone engine so that Keystone Party—and future GameSlayve addons—can share one consistent source of combat information.
Keystone Party Users
GameSlayve Battle Lab is strongly recommended for GameSlayve Keystone Party.
GSKP can make use of Battle Lab's combat information throughout its Adventure Journal, including combat snapshots, pull performance, peak statistics, activity history, and other performance-related features.
For the best and most complete GSKP experience, install Battle Lab alongside Keystone Party.
Without Battle Lab, portions of Keystone Party that depend on its shared combat-analysis service may have limited or unavailable combat information.
What Battle Lab Tracks
Battle Lab's combat engine can capture and summarize:
- Damage and DPS
- Healing and HPS
- Damage Taken
- Interrupts
- Dispels
- Deaths
- Combat duration
- Individual pulls
- Full activity combat totals
- Peak pull performance
Rather than treating combat as one continuously changing number, Battle Lab maintains finalized pull records and uses those records to construct the final activity summary.
Built for Reliable Combat Records
Battle Lab includes an immutable pull-ledger system. Once a combat pull has been finalized, that record becomes part of the activity's combat history.
The engine also includes safeguards for situations such as chained pulls, late combat detection, partially observed encounters, duplicate finalization, and combat ending while data is still settling.
This allows Battle Lab to distinguish between normally captured information and data that required recovery.
Independent Validation
Battle Lab can also use Blizzard's combat-meter information as an independent reference source.
This allows compatible GameSlayve addons to compare Battle Lab's finalized combat ledger against Blizzard's information without making Blizzard's meter the owner of Battle Lab's combat records.
Battle Lab includes detection for stale or unreliable reference information and can reject reference data that should not be trusted.
Designed as a Shared GameSlayve Service
Battle Lab now owns the shared combat-capture engine used by the GameSlayve addon family.
Instead of every GameSlayve addon creating its own combat tracker, compatible addons can consume Battle Lab's finalized results. This keeps combat accounting consistent across the suite and gives future GameSlayve projects a common combat foundation.
Current Integration
GameSlayve Keystone Party is the primary Battle Lab integration in version 1.0.0.
Battle Lab provides the combat foundation while Keystone Party provides the larger journal and activity experience surrounding that information.
Additional GameSlayve integrations can be built on the same shared service in the future.
