GalaxyChat is a lightweight World of Warcraft retail addon that brings three quality-of-life enhancements to your chat experience — all opt-in, all configurable, and all designed to feel native to the game.
Class Color Highlighting
Player names are automatically colored by their class wherever they appear in chat — both in the author prefix and inline within message bodies. Names are resolved from a persistent local cache that builds up over time as you group, guild, and interact with other players, surviving across sessions so colors appear faster the more you play.
Keyword & Name Alerts
Never miss a message that mentions you again. GalaxyChat watches all chat channels for your character name and any custom keywords you define, playing a sound alert the moment a match is found. Choose from a curated set of in-game sound presets or enter any SoundKitID manually, select your preferred output channel (Master, SFX, Music, Ambience, or Dialog), and optionally gate whisper alerts separately. All keyword matching is case-insensitive and debounced to prevent rapid-fire triggers.
Clickable URL Links
URLs shared in chat are automatically detected and converted into clickable hyperlinks. Clicking a link opens a minimal popup with the full URL pre-selected — just hit Ctrl+C and the popup closes itself. Supports http, https, www, and common domain patterns including .com, .net, .org, .gg, .tv, and .io.
Fully Configurable
Every feature is disabled by default and toggled on individually from the in-game Settings menu under the GalaxyChat category. No slash command setup required — just install, open Settings, and turn on what you want. A persistent player cache with configurable size limits and automatic age-based pruning keeps memory usage tidy over long play sessions.
