FriendGroups 13.0.3
What's new
FriendGroups Version 13.0.3 Changelog
A maintenance release: the search error is gone, search finds offline contacts again, Streamer Mode covers your own BattleTag, and the FriendGroups logo is on the contact window across the default UI, EllesmereUI and ElvUI.
Fixed: The protected-function error while searching
- Typing in the contact-list search box no longer throws
AddOn 'FriendGroups' tried to call the protected function 'UNKNOWN()'. It fired once per list rebuild for as long as there was text in the box, so a long search session could also trip BugGrabber's "too many errors in your UI" warning. Both are gone, along with the taint exposure the call carried.
Fixed: Search finds people again
- Offline contacts are matchable by character name once more. FriendGroups now records each contact's name and realm while they're online and answers searches from that record afterwards. Previously the record was only kept for 12.1's "WoW Friend" tier — which isn't active on the live client — so nothing was ever stored.
- The cache fills in as people log in. Contacts you haven't seen online since installing this build are still findable by note, group, nickname or realm.
Fixed: Streamer Mode now hides your own BattleTag
- It masked every contact's name but left your own BattleTag across the top of the window. It's now replaced with the blue "Streamer Mode" label, and the copy-BattleTag button is hidden while the mode is on.
- The "Streamer Mode" label uses your UI suite's font under EllesmereUI, instead of falling back to Blizzard's Friz Quadrata while everything around it was themed.
Fixed: Clearing a banner colour restores the header font
- Setting a banner colour turns the group label white for legibility. Clearing the banner now returns the label to its normal gold instead of leaving it white — including in combat, where the list refresh is deferred.
Fixed: Group header layout
- Header contents are vertically centred in the banner. The title, the
n/Ncount and the+/−glyph were all anchored from the top with a fixed inset, sitting roughly two units below centre with the text flush against the bottom edge — obvious as soon as a banner colour was set, and the reason headers looked glued to the next row. The+glyph also overhung the band's bottom edge. - The collapse toggle's hover glow follows the glyph. It had its own hardcoded offsets tuned to the old position; both now share one anchor and can't drift apart again.
New: The FriendGroups logo on the contact window
- Default Blizzard UI: the logo is drawn on the window portrait, shown immediately on login and on every tab — Contacts, Who, Raid and Quick Join. This is deliberate rather than scoped to the Contacts tab: every signal for "which tab am I on" is unreliable on this panel at the moment the decision has to be made, and chasing it produced flicker.
- EllesmereUI and ElvUI: these skins strip Blizzard's portrait ring, which left the band above the sub-tabs empty. The FG mark now sits there, on the Contacts page, from the first open of the session — a stale visibility check previously hid it until you'd visited another bottom tab and come back.
Changed
- EllesmereUI window border is black instead of a translucent white hairline. The grey rim made the bottom tab row look wider than the list above it; the two are now flush. (Thanks delasteve.)
- Nothing was regressed for 12.1's new contact list. The root cause behind the search, Streamer Mode and logo issues is that 12.1 shipped the Social UI switched off server-side, so work built against it silently did nothing on live. Those paths are untouched and re-engage automatically if Blizzard turns the system on — including mid-session.
