FriendGroups Version 12.2.0 Changelog

Alt Tracking & "Aka" System Improvements

  • Deliberate "Aka" Labels: The aka [Name] label now only appears after you deliberately right-click and choose "Select Main". Auto-guessing has been removed entirely to prevent noise and incorrect tagging.
  • Permanent Selected Mains: Your selected main is now completely permanent. It stays pinned at the top of a friend's character list with a checkmark, never expires, and can never be pushed out of their "recent 10" list, regardless of how long it has been since they logged in.
  • Infinite Alt History: The 14-day expiration for alt history has been removed. The addon now retains everything it observes so your known-alt database grows as completely as possible. (Stored data can still be cleared via the manual Purge button or by disabling alt tracking).

Guild Roster Enhancements

  • Cleaner Roster Tooltips: The Known Alt panel now only triggers for guildmates who are also on your Battle.net friends list (the only characters the addon has alt data for), removing the empty one-line window for non-friends.

Contact List Width Options

  • New "Wide" Layout: Added a new "Narrow (Default)" and "Wide" toggle under Settings → Contact List Size (sitting just below the existing length options). The "Wide" setting expands the window so long names and full "aka [MainName]" labels are no longer cut off with an ellipsis.
  • Backup & Reset Integration: This new width preference is a fully integrated setting; it is reliably saved in your Settings Backup (export/import) codes and resets correctly when using "Reset to Default".

Under the Hood & Localization

  • Code Cleanup: Removed dead/unused strings and completely re-sorted all language files into organized sections for cleaner, more maintainable code behind the scenes.
