What's new

ForeverGuild+: Changelog

1.1.2

Blacklist is now called Blocklist; /fg blocklist works, /fg blacklist still does.

  • Blocklist. Your own list of hidden players is called your blocklist everywhere in the addon: the Excommunication tab, its buttons and tooltips, chat lines, Settings and /fg help. /fg blocklist opens it, and /fg blacklist still does. Nothing else changes: your list is kept as it was, and guilds on 1.1.1 and on this version see each other as before.

1.1.1

Export includes members' professions for forevercommunity.org.

  • Professions in the Export. With Roster ticked, the export now carries a professions section: every roster member who shares a profession, each profession once by its word ("alchemy", "first_aid"), with its skill, the most it can reach, how many recipes the character knows and when that sheet was scanned. A Forever tier's own skill line counts as its profession; one the addon has no word for is left out. The contents line under the box counts them ("12 crafters (21 professions)"). An addition only: schema_version stays 1, and the import is unchanged.

1.1.0

forevercommunity.org's Export and Import (design/forevercommunity.md), for Raid leaders.

New

  • Export (Admin, /fg exportall): the guild's data as JSON for forevercommunity.org. Tick any of Guild Bank, Roster, Raid Groups, Loot History and Raid Signups (all ticked to begin with), then Export: it asks the server for a fresh roster first, then builds from the guild's saved copy into a copy box selected whole for Ctrl+C, with its size ("214 KB") and what is in it. The same data gives the same bytes; times are Unix seconds, UTC.
  • Import (Admin, /fg import): paste what forevercommunity.org exports and Check: what would change, by kind ("3 raids new, 1 changed, 1 cancelled; 12 signups; 2 raid groups; 5 roles; 4 loot edits"), and every change refused with the reason. Apply writes it as your own changes, checked by every client as if made in game: raid events (created, updated or cancelled, a re-import updating the same event), signups made on the site, raid groups, roles and loot corrections (each with its audit entry, its reason starting forevercommunity.org: ). A paste for another guild, format or version is refused whole.
  • The format is a contract: docs/forevercommunity-format.md, with JSON Schemas (docs/schema/) and examples (docs/examples/) the harness holds the addon to byte for byte.

Changed

  • Raid events and signups. An event made by an import keeps the site's id; a signup made on the site is written by a Raid leader for the player and marked "site" on Raid Signups. The player's own signup in game always wins over a site one. A client on 1.0.0 shows an imported raid without its id and doesn't see site signups: the guild updates together.
  • The sidebar's entries may now get as short as 17 px (18 before) in a short window, so the Guild Master's nineteen tabs fit the smallest one.

Good to know

  • 1.1.0 has run in a fake client only, as 1.0.0 has. Large pastes (200 KB and more) into the Import box and out of the copy box wait for a check in game.

1.0.0

ForeverGuild+ 1.0.0, formerly Systematic Guild. A guild addon for WoW: Forever, in a folder of its own.

What it does

  • The roster and raid teams. The Guild Roster with everyone's role (tank, healer, DPS) and alts, raid groups and who is on them, and the Raid Builder to make them (drag and drop between cards, one Save, Invite online). Export writes the raid groups as JSON for the site; the format is unchanged.
  • Raid Signups and Attendance. Raid leaders set up raids (weekly up to 8 at once) on the realm's clock; members sign up Coming, Tentative, Late or Can't with a role and the character they bring; the lineup (Confirmed, Bench) is dragged into place. Raid alerts before each raid. Attendance records itself from the raid group and is finalized by a Raid leader.
  • Loot History, My Characters, Professions, Guild Bank. What dropped and who got it (recorded by master looters, edited by Raid leaders); your account's characters with professions, cooldowns, attunements and loot; who can craft what, with craft requests; and the guild bank as the last member to open it saw it.
  • Group Finder and BG Finder. Tick dungeons or battlegrounds and see the guildmates looking for the same, by role; Form premade for a battleground.
  • Layers. Which layer you and every guildmate is on, hopping, Olympus flags and warnings. It is the Systematic Layers engine built in, on the same wire, so guildmates with ForeverGuild+ and with Systematic Layers see one set of layers. With Systematic Layers 1.5.0 or later installed beside it, Systematic Layers stands down and hands /layers and its minimap button to this addon.
  • Bounties, Excommunication and your own blacklist. Post and claim bounties on enemy players, with approvals by bounty managers; the guild's excommunication list and every player's own blacklist hide their players' chat and group invites. The blacklist never leaves your computer.
  • Call to Arms. A button that posts your location to guild chat and alerts every guildmate online with the addon, with a map pin.
  • Guild Manager and Settings. The Guild Master's settings, grants and rights (Raid leader, bounties, excommunication); this computer's own options in Settings.
  • How it shares. Nothing is written to the guild itself (Forever lets addons write neither the guild information nor officer notes). Every client keeps a copy of what the guild shares in its saved variables, and the copies are kept in step over guild addon messages, newest change winning, each change checked against who may make it.

A clean break

  • A new folder, new saved data and a new prefix. The addon is the folder ForeverGuild, its saved variables are ForeverGuildDB, and its guild addon-message prefix is ForeverGuild (protocol 4). Nothing is imported from the old addon's saved data.
  • Guildmates on the old addon and on ForeverGuild+ do not see each other's data. Neither hears the other's messages, so the whole guild switches together. Nothing carries over from the old addon except what the guild shares again once its members are on ForeverGuild+: roles, alt links, raid groups and the rest are made again, or arrive from the first guildmate whose copy has them.
  • /fg (or /foreverguild) opens the window; /fg help lists the rest. The old addon's slash commands are gone.

Good to know

  • Not yet checked in game. ForeverGuild+ has run in a fake client only, as the addon it grew out of did before it: drag and drop, the new checkbox and the gold gradients, the raid times from Forever's calendar, the invite flow, master loot, trades and the loot window, the tradeskill window, attunement quest ids, the Call to Arms map pin, and the guild bank (that Forever has one, and its events and calls).
  • Layers is not checked in game yet: reading a layer from the creatures round you, the hop with its invite, and the Olympus flags are Systematic Layers' code, run in a fake client here, and wait for Forever like the rest.
  • The bank is a snapshot. It is only as true as the last member to open the bank; each tab says who and when.
  • A master looter who loses Raid leader, or leaves the guild, keeps their recorded raids in the Loot History: the Guild Master's addon vouches for them, and the raid says so.
