# ForeverCodex

ForeverCodex is a centralized profession and recipe database built specifically for World of Warcraft: Forever.

It automatically tracks your characters, professions and learned recipes and allows guild members using ForeverCodex to share their crafting knowledge with each other.

The goal is simple:

**Find out who can craft what — without asking around, logging through multiple characters or maintaining external spreadsheets.**

## Central Recipe Database

ForeverCodex combines recipe data from your own characters and other ForeverCodex users into one searchable database.

Recipes are only listed once, even if multiple characters can craft them.

For every recipe you can see:

- Profession
- Category
- Recipe or crafted item information
- Required materials
- Which characters can craft it
- When a remote crafter was last seen
- Direct whisper option for available crafters

## Automatic Profession Scanning

Whenever you open a profession window, ForeverCodex scans that profession and updates its stored recipe data.

Newly learned recipes are automatically detected.

If a profession is unlearned, the character is removed from the affected recipe ownership data without deleting recipes still known by other crafters.

## Guild Recipe Sharing

ForeverCodex includes its own lightweight synchronization system.

Guild members using ForeverCodex can automatically exchange profession and recipe revisions.

The sync system is designed to avoid unnecessary traffic:

- Lightweight revision handshake after login
- Only missing or outdated profession data is requested
- Data is requested from a single suitable peer
- Recipe changes are synchronized when they are detected
- Full synchronization can still be started manually

Cached data from offline crafters can also be relayed by other ForeverCodex users, allowing useful crafting information to remain available even when the original crafter is offline.

## Crafter Overview

The Crafter page provides an overview of known characters and their professions.

ForeverCodex tracks:

- Character name
- Known professions
- Local or guild source
- Last seen information

This helps avoid sending expensive materials to characters that have not been active for a long time.

## Recipe Search & Filters

The recipe browser supports filtering by:

- Profession
- Profession category
- Crafter source
- Recipe name

Categories are normalized between German and English clients where possible, so synchronized recipes remain searchable even when players use different client languages.

## Recipe Details

Click any recipe to open its detailed view.

The recipe detail window includes:

- Crafted item or enchant information
- Required materials
- Crafter list
- Direct whisper buttons
- Current inventory material count

The material section shows how many required materials you currently carry.

Example:

This makes it easy to see what you are still missing before contacting a crafter.

## Character & Account Support

ForeverCodex stores profession data account-wide.

Your own characters are automatically recognized and duplicate local/synchronized character entries are merged whenever possible.

World of Warcraft: Forever's full character names are supported.

## German & English

ForeverCodex supports:

- German
- English

German clients automatically start in German.

Other client languages default to English.

The language can also be changed directly in the addon settings.

## Minimap & Keybind Support

ForeverCodex includes a standalone LibDataBroker / LibDBIcon minimap button.

No external library addon is required.

Features include:

- Drag-and-drop minimap positioning
- Saved minimap position
- Hide / Show
- Lock / Unlock
- Left Click: Open / close ForeverCodex
- Right Click: Open settings

ForeverCodex can also be assigned to a custom key through WoW's Key Bindings menu.

ForeverCodex includes all required libraries directly inside the addon:
