Forever Tavern

A hand of cards between adventures.

Bring a card table to your downtime in World of Warcraft: Forever. Practice against AI, invite friends, or settle in for a quiet game of Solitaire. Forever Tavern includes six games and four illustrated tavern themes.

Six games

• Texas Hold'em — 2–6 players. No-limit poker with play chips, custom raise totals, side pots and split pots.
• Hearts — 4 players. Pass cards, avoid hearts and the queen of spades, or try to shoot the moon.
• Chicago — 2–4 players. Build poker hands through card swaps, then play tricks. The host chooses the number of swap rounds.
• Gin Rummy — 2 players. Build sets and runs, manage deadwood, and decide when to knock.
• Last Card — 2–5 players. Arrange face-up stacks above three hidden slots, then race to shed your cards. Twos reset the pile; tens and four matching ranks burn it.
• Solitaire — 1 player. Draw-one Klondike with unlimited stock passes and Undo.

The five multiplayer games can also be practiced against AI. Full rules are available inside the addon.

Your tavern, your table

Choose Lion's Pride, Horde Longhouse, Stranglethorn Saloon or Dalaran Violet Lounge. Each theme has matching menu artwork, table decorations and card backs. Preview a theme before applying it; the host's choice sets the scene for everyone at that table.

Compact mode keeps the table smaller while you wait. Adjust opacity, fade only the background, or bring the window back to full opacity on your turn. Card hover enlargement and a quiet turn sound are optional.

Play at your own pace

Choose seats and optional AI fill before dealing. Table settings include AI difficulty, shorter sessions, a finish-after-hand option, Hearts score targets and optional rising poker blinds. Hand recaps explain the scoring when play ends.

Poker uses one editable raise total with presets and an explicit Raise button. The other games have their own card selection and play controls.

Play with friends

Everyone needs Forever Tavern installed. Choose Host with friends, then share the lobby's join command. Friends can use the Join a friend field or type:

/ft join Character-Realm

Joining requires addon whispers to work between the characters. The host runs the table and must remain available.

Saved tables can be explicitly resumed after a normal reload or login, including solo games and Solitaire. A resumed host starts paused so friends can reclaim their seats. The host can temporarily replace a disconnected player with AI; that player can reclaim the seat later. Recovery uses the original host—there is no host migration. WoW writes saved progress during normal reload/logout, so a crash can lose recent moves.

Getting started

Install the addon, restart WoW, and type /ft. Use the menu arrows to browse all six games, then choose Practice with AI, Host with friends, or Play solo.

This build targets World of Warcraft: Forever 1.60.1. Friends tables require version 0.9.1 or newer for every player; update everyone before playing together.

All poker chips are for play and have no gold or cash value.
